i just came across a really interesting thread over at nano and thought it'd be fun to try it here as well. Basically, you think up a question for the next person to answer. The questions, of course, should be based on writing.... but you know writings.. you can go as crazy as you want.

I'll start first.

Have you read of any rich heroes in fantasy?

yeah I have, a character called 'Waylander' by David Gemmell. He has a big mansion and huge property but barely ever lives there.

Have you ever read a book with your name in it?

surely.

Why do most RPG start off in a tavern or inn?

Because there aree such a rich variety of characters in a tavern that you wont find anywhere else. From your jolly barman who has seen it all pass through is tavern to the wondering warrior with a mysterious past. you get your bad guys passing through looking for some poor soul to pray on and the odd...other characters who may not be all that they seem.

Do you write more than one ending to your stories?

Do you write short stories, short short stories, or chapter books?

I write inspirational stories and do some spoken word poetry. It really all depends on what I have experienced or seen which inspires me to write.

Have you ever written any fantasy?

no, Fantasy isn't my writting style.

where did you get your inspiration for the latest peice that you've written?

The last story I wrote was a Christmas story. The only actual inspiration I had was the idea to do a Christmas story. My last piece in general would be an essay I wrote for school (if that counts). I got the inspiration for that one from hearing someone speaking in church.

This is sort of a weird question, but have you ever written a story or poem that was inspired by a dream you had?

yes. I got to write a fan fiction (anime) based on a dream (a dream on an anime). A pity i didn't get to finish it, but i got many pages out of that.

Do your characters ever take a bath in a fantasy setting?

No, they take showers.

What's the longest story you've ever written?

My longest story so far was 5,746 words (hopefully not for long ).

What's the shortest story you've ever written?

I wrote a short 1 page story on when Peter was questioned about his love by Jesus as they sat around the fire on the shore.

Has anything you've written ever been published?

Once in a college magazine, but that's a start.

Do your main characters tend to be the same gender as you are?

Used to be, but not now.

How often do you kill off your characters?

Well I feel it's necissary.

Do you usually make your charcters really cool or just normal?

not main characters generally, other characters sometimes, but then they usually end up being the bad guys heh.

How do you come up with names?

 

[Slina]

It depends. I've got a name book, and have links to several name sites, so I generally use those to come up with a name that fits. Sometimes though a name will just pop into my head out of nowhere.

Do you prefer to use simple names, or longer and exotic-sounding names?

longer ones, not necessarily exotic though.

How long does it take to come up with a name generally?

A few minutes or less. But generally I make up names, or use obscure ones... Normal names tend to be boring and don't do such a good job of adding character to my poor creations.
