Question for witches.

Good question! For the most part, it has already been answered by other Pagans on the board: we believe it is a gift from the Gods, that we all partake of some sort of life-energy that we are able to utilize since the Divine is immanent.

Because of our belief in Divine immanence, mankind and God cannot be truly separated, and there is no "other source" from which to seek energy/power (from demons or Satan, or something not- or anti-God for example). Some witches believe that certain objects or symbols can lend their magic additional energy, which would make sense in a universe where the Divine is in everything, but some merely regard the symbols and objects used in spellwork as "props" which help the pracitioner focus.

Yep, and those props are comparable to the ones used in mass such as the chalice, the cross, the statues, etc...

Earth air fire water spirit. I believe we all have a power within ourselves to manipulate the energies around us. some of us just tend to harness it better. i don't work with spirits. dangerous toys they are. i see them...i hear them...i never answer. no...i'm not saying they're of satan, but there is evil in this world and you never know who or what might deceive you so i just don't take that chance. i worship no one and nothing. i believe you don't have to. i'm a part of an enormous force that created all. good and evil and that we're all a part of it. in a way. i am my own god. the REAL power comes from the inside. no tools necessary. no candles, no incense, no oils and ointments, no special words....just pure willpower. thanks for hearing out my tangent.

Where do you believe you get your powers from? Like for spells and things.

I draw my inspiration from the Goddess herself, who allows me to manipulate Her elements at Her will. I do nothing without asking Her first, and never demand anything of Her. And the only "powers" that I personally have ever experienced are: the sight, ridding of bad people, and some ablility to change the weather.
