Question about something

I wondered has this happen to anyone on here
have you ever awoke from sleeping praying in the spirit, if so do you know what it means, if not do you know where i can find out what it means? it has happend with me on more then one occasion and while i feel the presance of God when it happens i don't know what exactly is going on during this occurance..i'll appreciate any help

Yes I have had this happen a number of times too. Like you, though, I don't what it means except maybe I am praying in the spirit in my sleep. My husband told me at one time that he had heard me praying in the spirit occasionally and not even wake up. I think it is probably a good thing though. Gee, that was helpful, wasn't it? LOL.

I am not sure, but I think that you are either praying for someone somewhere in the world or the Lord is praying through you for yourself and the coming day. We never know what is coming up. One day I was praying so hard in the Spirit in the morning. I don't remember if I was asleep, but I was weighed down. I prayed really hard. It turns out that a lady from work had been driving to work and her car went into a big ditch upside down and it was FREEZING out. She had to crawl out through the window and through water in the ditch. She was so lucky she did not die! She had a couple of little children and a husband. Was I glad I prayed! Well, it was the Lord praying through me. Sometimes we do not get to know who it is that is being prayed for. I would think maybe God was praying things out of your way for you for your day. Maybe?

I remember hearing my daughter praying in tongues in her sleep when she was a teenager (something she didn't do when she was awake then), and it was clear to me what was happening, but wasn't clear to her when I told her about it later.

This occurred at a season in her life when she was getting very close to God, learning to rely on Him more and more as she has more to face in life. I never knew if God was using her as an intercessor or if He was filling her (I kind of think that could happen in ways we don't understand). But I saw a difference in her from that day forward, something I'm not sure she comprehends herself even yet.

There are some wonderful testimonies about being used by God (and perhaps never understanding it) in Cindy Jacob's book "Possessing the Gates of the Enemy: A Training Manual for Militant Intercession," that includes similar stories about prayer. It further confirms my notions that just when we think we have it all figured out about what God is doing, we probably don't.

But we can talk to Jesus in our hearts and minds

Not just on Sundays and at church
At work, school, home, play, etc.

yes it has happend to me a time or two, it surprised me cause I dont realy pray in the spirit when Im awake. on rare occasion I have. I few of my friends do it as well.

Our spririts never sleep, and I imagine they are most in tune with God when our minds and bodies are....think about it we cant get in our ownd way. That is why it easy to hear God as you are just waking up, and many people have God given dreams through out the nigt. I am sure your spirit is praying to God maybe for yourself, but maybe for some missionary across the globe...who knows

Thank you all for your replies not only for reason but just know that I am not the only one this has happend to, we know that it is the Lords doing but sometimes we like to be let in on what's going on, BUT, our spirits don't sleep and, it ,makes intercession for us, with moanings and groanings that can't be utterered, I thank God for whatever He's doing ya know ?? , thanks so much all!!!

Maybe the "sleeping intercession" is even more effective because most of the natural mind is shut down & out of the way tee hee....my brain is such a chatterbox, and sometimes I feel like my better prayer happens in that sleeping/spontaneous way.
