its AS a thousand years, not that it is!
It could be, a day could also be a billion years as the OEC theory suggests. Or a day could be a literal 24 hour day. I think they all apply and are all true. There are at least four or five levels of meaning to the Bible.

Of course. But what I think you mean is that there are at least four or five different things you can read into any passage of the Bible, usually with varying amounts of literary contortion.

The point is clear, though - you said you had biblical support for your position, and you don't have even that. I quote, "It could be [a thousand years]." But you have no good evidence, not even good biblical evidence that it is.

This is not really the right board for a discussion on dispensationalism. They do have a board set up for that subject.

The thing is it all works and it all fits. If a day in the Bible was 1,000 years then that would put us back 12,975 years and that is exactly when the ice age came to an end and the world we now live in began.

The world during the last ice age and the world we live in now is a totally different world. There was massive extinction and then there were population explosions. There was also a massive bottle neck effect at this time. Some animals were bottlenecked at this point in time to the degree that they are almost clones of each other because their DNA is so much alike.

Also there was massive flooding and the ocean level went up 300 to 400 feet. If you look at two maps. The old world with everything covered by ice. Then look at a map of the new world where so much of the coast was flooded and is now underwater. You will find very little land that was not flooded or not covered by ice at one time. We still deal with global warming and flooding to this day, even with all of our technology.

How did the last ice age end, if you don’t believe the Earth existed at the time? The Earth was also a tropical paradise pre-fall, this would have resulted in the ice caps melting removing nearly all the evidence for any of the many ice ages.

The number 12,975 is complete baloney! Climate change is extremely slow and numerous events can influence a year’s climate such as El Niño so scientists study a planet’s climate as a whole over a much larger duration of time.
