  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

No. I've had many cats, and none of them did this. Some cats purr louder than others, and usually they purr when they are wanting to relax. Even though a cat is purring, this doesn't mean they aren't easily ignited to defense, or anger. It happens in a split second!

Thanks everyone for their answers! :) Just curious. :D It's amazing the range of sounds that they use to communicate, isn't it? Just how one thing can have a multiplicity of meanings!
:) hmm..that would be a good name for a cat..Multiplicity! I have heard cats do that, but its usually been more of a growl. Is it a loud purr?High or low pitch? Sounds highly irritated..lol

Lol! That would be! It's a very loud punctuated purr that is in sync with her breathing. Her breathing is slow with deeps breaths at the time so it sounds like: "purrrrrRRRR, RRRRRR purrrrRRRRR" -- and you can hear the whistle of the air through her nose as she purrs. This is reserved for times when she really wants to sleep and not be petted. It's a warning before she starts pushing you with all paws. Lol.

Her happy purr is softer and her playful purr is can be just as loud but not as staccato. (I don;t know how else to describe it.) :)

You are so funny.lol I only wish we could be there in person to see you demonstrate this. I especially like how you made sure to include the whistling of the air through the nose part. rolf....That makes for quite a visual! It sounds to me like you have a very, very special little kitty there. She sounds sooooooo cute! He Ni-Ni-Ni-Ni!!

And at the same time ears are slightly back (not in a mad way but in the I'm listening to everything around me way) and she squints. She looks so aristocratic and blase. Lol. She is really adorable. :) We love her soooo much.
