Close to Detroit. How often do you go to Michigan?

Not too often. I'm heading there in a few weeks for my great grandmother in law's 100th birthday.

Friday I had a very edifying discussion with a dear brother about Christ our saviour and what it means to love our wives and families because Christ taught us how to truly love. Smoking a pipe with the discussion causes you to pause and think a lot while talking and I thank God for these small blessings and pleasures. I had some Muskoko Mixture from Brigham and it was good. Light Latakia and vanilla? Excellent smoke I will definitely buy a pouch. I think I might order some of the Northwoods from Boswell. Anyone try it?

Went for a little road trip this morning to a neighbouring town and thought I'd look up a smoke shop and buy some tobacco instead of ordering online.

The first shop was a weed shop that smelled like weed and sold bongs, glass pipes and other paraphernalia.

The second shop had a huge variety of ONE brand: CAPTAIN BLACK. Nothing wrong with the old Cap but if you have a sign out front of your shop advertizing tobacco you should have more then ONE brand of pipe tobacco!

The last shop had all kinds of cigars, was tempted but stayed the course...it had only three name brands! Captain Black, W. O. Larsen and Petersons. Out of frustration I bought a tin and left.

Bought a bottle of Port today. How do I serve it?

In a small wine glass at room temperature. If you don't have a small wine glass use a snifter. If you don't have a snifter, just drink from the bottle!

Picked up some red wine (Trapiche Malbec Reserve), some sherry (Emu) and Chimay Ale tonight.

I split a pint and half of Chimay red with a buddy yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is top shelf!

I'm looking forward to my bi-monthly/twice a month smoke.

I'm sipping rooibos iced tea with a splash of orange juice, no sugar.
