[Osage Bluestem]

Don't tell the rest of US but Canadian Rye Whisky, well, it isn't really Rye. It contains (no joke) sherry, bourbon and lots and lots of rum. The only true Canadian Rye isn't sold in the US. Alberta Premium is not exported. By Canadian Law Canadian Rye just has to contain a minimum amount of Rye but can have almost anything else added. Besides Alberta Premium you have Alberta Springs that contains a high amount of Rye but not 100% Rye.

I don't know why Americans drink Canadian Rye Whisky when they have American (true, 100%, knock you down) Rye.

Well, whatever Windsor is I'm glad they brewed it up. It's pretty good. The price is great as well.

To me though scotch is king. Bourbon is second and Canadian is third. Canadian sells real well down here because it is inexpensive, smooth over ice, and easy to mix into a cocktail. Scotch and bourbon are best warm and straight.

I'll be glad when the holiday season is over, I'm having too much fun imbibing, although it does seem to help some with all the in-laws and out-laws around.

Right now I'm sipping a rye (100% striaght Canadian rye) and ginger with 3 dashes of bitters and ice.

Hey sorry if this has already been discussed, it's been a while since I've stopped in this pub, but anyone here drink Basil Hayden's? It's become my bourbon of choice, when I'm willing to pay for it (not that it's as expsensive as many of them).

I've never had real Wild Turkey (only their "American Honey"), but Basil Hayden's is Jim Bean's "top shelf" brand. I find it to be very smooth due to the high rye content.

The Wild Turkey distillery is less than 5 miles from my house. If you want I can send you some of the real stuff. Makers Mark is about 20 miles away. Woodford Reserve is supposed to be by far the best of them all and it is only 10-15 miles. All of them are kind of pricey even here.

Makers Mark. Yum! By far my favorite bourbon. Woodford Reserve is nice too, but expensive, however Woodford Reserve makes the same stuff for Kirkland (owned by Costco) which sells it for nearly half the price.

I even stick my pinky out when I take a drink. LOL.

I tried making wine once many years ago but it didn't turn out well.
I love beer but I had a problem drinking way too much of it before the Lord revealed His Son in me. I still have to keep a close reign on how much I drink. I find that wine is easier to control.

I made some hard cider once. Used apple juice, sugar and wine yeast. Turned out ok but I was afraid to drink more then a sip at a time in case I died from something I did wrong. I might try again. It was really simple.
