I'm excited to meet people that I don't see because they attend the second service (I go to the 8am one). I don't know if we will go to the Reformation one (it's in the evening) because we will have just come back from Florida the day before (14+ hour drive). I hope so. It depends on how hubby is feeling.

Church picnic in September, Reformation potluck in October.

You have not seen potluck until you have seen a Lutheran potluck.

We can compare notes after.
Mine is Saturday if i go.

I missed the church picnic because of my husband having to work at that time (then we caught someone stealing from the church and had to sort it out with the police which took a good part of the day) but we actually skipped our vacation and moved it to February (last week in Feb) so now we are definitely going. Apparently it will be a "German feast". The church is providing the drinks, potatoes, and meat. I think I'm going to make a chocolate cake.

Are you guys and girls hitting on the Church because you're jealous of the fact we have coffee and donuts after the Mass? :p

No. Coffee and donuts? Pffft. We've got a spread, before, during and after the Service. Yes, the sermon is so long (the real feast) our preacher gives everybody a break in the middle and encourages them to drink some coffee, eat some. Fresh fruit is always available, as well as your more typical American artificial sugary substances.

There is NO balcony. Somebody would probably fall asleep and fall out of it, per Acts. It doesn't do to tempt the Lord ... ^_^

I wish my LCMS church were more like that. There was a huge German food stall at our local Octoberfest celebration - brats and kraut, German potato salad, apfelkuchen - put on by ...

the Methodists!

Episcopalians give you a run for your money. Ya just have to get them to co-ordinate who brings the tuna casserole, and who brings the lime jello w/ the little marshmallows, otherwise that's all you wind up with ^_^

How the heck long does your sermon last!:D

Young) Acts 20:9 and there was sitting a certain youth, by name Eutychus, upon the window--being borne down by a deep sleep, Paul discoursing long--he having sunk down from the sleep, fell down from the third story, and was lifted up dead.

Nope. Don't need to be Catholic for that.We have it at our church. Plus, we have dinner on the ground, far better music, and the fullness of truth.

Sounds unhygienic. We use plates, and sit at tables (most of us). :|

If your attitude here is any indication of your attitude in real life, then you probably wouldn't be invited anyway.

The Liturgy isn't supposed to be determined by what sounds exciting and makes you happy, but what is traditional and worshipful.

Good thing for us we're not luturgical then.

Questionable. ;)

Nope. Biblical.
