Are you guys and girls hitting on the Church because you're jealous of the fact we have coffee and donuts after the Mass? :p

Donuts?

Usually I have a cookie with coffee after Eucharist.

I wonder if tim horton's could supply our parish after Eucharist. ^_^

Perhaps a trifle sacrilegious but oh well...

Repeating Rosary, should the beads be changed?

Matt 6:7 And -- praying -- ye may not use vain repetitions like the nations, for they think that in their much speaking they shall be heard,

So this thread is a different angle, not really about the usual praying to Mary idea, but isn't the repitition contrary to what Jesus said?

Isn't it in and of itself very uncreative?

Isn't God worth a little effort and a fresh new idea, and new things each day?

Oooops..forgot...the Rosary is not really about him, because the priorities are established in the ratio, where the beads are, so is the heart. Why not reverse the ratio?:)

Come on Sunday!

Absolutely! When it comes to the "coffee hour," there's nothing to compare with an Orthodox church. I put that in quotes since it's so inadequate to describe the spread. BTW, if the Roman Catholics (per the OP) have any at all, it must be a recent development.

In the EO, we have much more substantial food after liturgy. We haven't eaten since midnight (and usually we don't get communion until almost 11-12 hours later). We are usually starving by then, so we have a lot more food than just donuts. We go through lots of coffee too since we haven't had any of that either.

It can be a bit rough when you get up very early to prepare something really good to add to the spread.

I agree! We have one family that cooks ham when they have coffee hour. You can smell it all through liturgy--it smells so good and you are hungry! But is every bit worth the wait when you get to receive Christ's Body and Blood.
