My point is that the New Testament presents the radical concept that all saints are priests. It does not differentiate among priests, creating various castes of priests. In fact, Jesus Himself made it crystal clear that the one who would be greatest among us must be the servant of all. Servants were, and are, very undignified because of their work.

This isn't exactly true. God had told Israel that if they remained faithful to Him that as His children they would be a kingdom of preists to Him. This was in addition to the already established priesthood. So it wasn't a "radical" idea introduced in the new testament, but the explaining of a promise already given.

That is a very good description of the evolution of church organization over time. One of the difficulties in accepting the idea that the New Testament organization of the church was inadequate and in need of refining, is that it assumes that progressive revelation on this doctrine is necessary and that God, in His infinite ignorance, failed to consider what the Church really should have been. The Apostles failed miserably in their feeble attempts to organize the Church, leaving the task to more enlightened men of a later age.

Except the Catholic Church implies no such thing. I know for a fact that not all protestants reject the crucifix. In fact, some, rightfully, are very fond of it. So, if some people don't like the idea of a crucifix is it correct to throw it away altogether? And, is this legitimate protestant practice? Because some people don't like something, is it OK to dismiss it? At times, it seems like protestantism is more of a reaction against Catholicism and not an action towards Christ.

No, when I peer into the pages of New Testament I see the fullness of the Catholic Church revealed, complete with it's three-fold ministry. It was with us then, and it's with us now. I'm not sure how the SDA works, but I know that within protestantism there exists a two-fold ministry and a five-fold ministry. Then of course you have the emergent church and the remnant church as well as the house church movements who, to me, are the most guilty of trying to recreate the Church in their own image.

I also know the promise of Christ that the gates of hell will not prevail against His Church. So, where do protestants get this idea that they need to reinstate the Church?

You may need to read the letters from Cyprian, Firmilian, and others about the issue, rather than Sunday School summary. Rome allowed baptisms of demons, Marcion, and others as equal to Christian baptism.

Were they baptisms "In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit?" If so, they were valid baptisms. If not, not. Because an atheist can perform a baptism, as long as he uses water and the formula, and intends it the way the Church means it.

I know of a Cardinal whom they discovered had not been baptized in the proper formula at birth. Because his baptism wasn't valid, they had to go back through the records, because every sacrament he performed from his priestly consecration was not valid. I don't know how they resolved all those sacraments, but the point is that there are elements and formulas and intentions involved.

We don't do "Sunday School", FYI.

I have to apologize but I don't know what your threefold ministry is. What I do know however is that the fullness of the Catholic Church is not revealed in the new teatament. Matt-Rev simply expounds upon Gen-Mal. What is revealed about the Catholic church isn't the stuff you like to hear.

I didn't know protestants were trying to reinstate the church. As I said before, the whole thing about the reformation was about getting the church back to the word of God. And you like to say "the gates of hell will not prevail against the church" but what does that mean?

That wasn't a promise to keep the men from falling into error or apostasy. Given that hell represents the grave, Christ was saying that Satan would not be able to kill off His church, which, by looking at history, we can tell is true.
