An impeachable offense is anything the House decides is an Offense. In this case overturning the California Constitution without a shred of justification is sufficient to get rid of him.

It's ironic as well since most of the funding for the prop came from out of state as well, so it's debatable how much it was the will of California voters anyway.

Judge Walker could only rule on the evidence. The proponents of Prop 8 would not, or could not, present any evidence. Blankenship, their "expert witness," was allowed to testify despite the Plaintiffs' protests over his qualifications, but his testimony consisted of presenting conclusions as fact without any logical underpinning. When asked the basis for these conclusions his answers basically boiled down to "Because I'm an expert and I say so."

You don't live in a true democracy
I'm not sure how many times that has to be pointed out until people will realise. In the US a judge can override the will of the people if the result is deemed unconstitutional or otherwise illegal. That's how your country works. The people do not hold all the power, and you should be glad they don't.

No an impeachable offense is not just anything the House decides is an Offense. Indeed it must be based upon law. The judge overturned an unconstitutional amendment to the California State Constitution, this is indeed his job. He did so because that particular amendment violated the equal protection clause. This judgment was based upon the evidence that was presented. He did his job.

Why should it? The Californian electorate could all unanimously vote to legalise murder, but that doesn't mean a Judge who throws out that legislation is therefore liable for impeachment. If the new law is unconstitutional, then the judge is well within his or her rights to throw said law out. Which is exactly what the Californian judge did.

Rather than lament the result and just assume Judge Walker acted outside the scope of his authority and the law, can you point anything in his legal reasoning in the ruling that would support your contention? Have you even read it? I have, I found he did a much better job articulating his postion than I expected.

We've done far more than we were supposed to. It is now time to protect each other, OUR families and be done with these people. Their pride (haughtiness) is to our ultimate benefit. God's will, still in action.
The lost will always come to the Church because it is the only reality for sinners that exists.
