Knownbeforetime whos smile once filled the plains whos laughter now fills the canyons as the water rushes near. How can a word be given to one whos life so many hold dear. Your there with a hand to raise and to help and never ask for little if anything for yourself . I would have to search long and far for a word for the daughter of God. Whos smile makes the mountian trees a little greener and whos laughter fills the air. Who once stood on the plains and pulled her wagon around, now reaches her same hands to those in need of help. a word from God you say !! I believe He would say !! Keep your smile on !!

Find your song again sweet Bella.. Lift up your head to the Saviour and just look into His face and all else will grow dim.. Believing doesn't come with the eyes or the head.. it comes from the heart.. Everything else around you has taken your eyes off Him and blocked your view.. But Jesus is right there with you.. Sing again the song you were born to sing.. Let your heart go from the battle that rages and the voices that are crowding in and want to take your peace.. There is not one of us who does not doubt from time to time.. but it is when we can simply block them out by putting our mind wholly on Christ.. They don't stand a chance then.. Don't look for the broken Christ though.. look for the King!! The King whose hand is reaching out and sees His daughter and wants her to walk in His grace and mercy once again.. Are you sure prophesy and Word of Knowledge are the same?

I've read the list of spiritual gifts that St Paul has laid out for the church in 1 Corinthians 14 (isn't it horrible that many think the gifts died with St Paul and St Peter and the others in the first century) and I thought prophesy was for the church, to edify the church, which of course includes the people, but isn't a Word of Knowledge one of the nine gifts as the gift of prophecy is also?

With that in mind I will pratice my gift of prophecy ...

I've only had about ten prophecies in the last 12 years, but none were for indviduals.

With so few words from God I don't consider myself a prophet, but this is for pratice, right? Like choir practice were just letting our soul to come out in the open.

First of all ... lets get the vanity out of prophecy. Vanity is useless thinking.
Edify the body of Christ and then sit down, same with translating tongues or any other gift.

1 Corinthians 10:24
Let no one seek his own, but each one the other’s well-being.

My God has tricked me many times in order to train me to understand and to become more obedient. The first prophecy was really big and I would smile and laugh everytime I repeated it, but God chastised me and let me see that I was resisting His will. He showed me to be more mature and serious about recieving from Him.

I have learned to repeat the prophesy exactly the way it was recieved and not add to it. Not only should you not add to prophesy, but be very careful in how you comprehend prophecy, especially in stating what you think it means.

Isaiah 55:8

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.​

Here's a good example from a prophesy God gave to me five years ago.​

"Something davastating is going to happen between Texas and Georgia"​

That was August 2002 ... exactly three years later to the week, Hurricane Katrina rolled over New Orleans and the Gulf coast.​

For three years I was praying about a terroist group making that same area suffer from a dirty bomb or some clamity only known by God.​

I missed it, uh? Now I'm more mature and ready to serve Him, but still remember that my God is a pun artist. He has had more fun treating me like a child and I can usually only see it in hindsight.​

Here's the last prophecy the Lord gave me just three weeks ago ... "Keep your eyes on the heavens ... something big is going to happen"​

I'm not about to add to that prophecy or even try to explain it. Now ya'll can practice it too.

We all make mistakes, because the Lord wants us to learn from them. Remember when St Peter denied Christ three times after saying he wouldn't to Jesus face.

Jesus is our Lord and our King and our Prophet ...
the Spirit of His Son lives in us that believe.

I believe that He does, but not with malicious intent. Sometimes HIS meaning is not the same as OUR meaning. Case in point: about two months ago, God told me something was going to happen NOW. It didn't happen. Apparently His definition of "now" and MY definition of "now" are two totally different things.

The God I know has a sence of humor, imagine that we are made in his image. the definition of tricks is the only question in my mind. God hides tools from my sight when I don't talk to him when I finally stop and pray and ask Him to show me where it is it often is right where it should be where I already looked several times. I laugh take a minute to talk to my dear freind who resorts to tricks to get my attention. nothing mean about it just his way of reminding me to say hello during my day.as to puns I am told if you read scripture in the orrigional Greek and aramaic it's full of puns and double meanings.

It was mentioned before and then the person said it again just before your post to me.

I am sorry if it didn't sound edifying. Perhaps this isnt the thread for me then.

The purpose was because when it comes to prophesy we judge a prophesy ( not the person) by the Word. And what I read in the Word does not show that God has that kind of character. Now I know that was statemet not a prophecy, but when we "hear" a voice or a word whispered to us how do we know if the Lord or enemy is whispering it? We test it by the Word. The enemy will sometimes try to trick us, and try to imitate His voice, but the Word never changes. So we must compare it to the Word.

Jacob is a good example he wrestled all night in which was all night spent with the Lord. Because of jacobs time spent and his determination and willingness to strugle it impressed the Lord who then changed his name to Israel. I believe God gives us visions and dreams and has delivered scripture in the symbolic way of teaching not only to paint a picture with words but to also teach in a way that we must wrestle with and have the determination and desire to seek understanding and as we seek we are spending time with the Lord. God speaks and teaches in a method that brings out the Jacobs of the world. This is just my opinion. Peace and Love !! Rod

Thanks for that, Rod, it makes a lot of sense to me!
I'm always asking Him why He can't explain things a bit more - writing on the wall in words of one syllabel(can't spell that!) would be good.
But you're right, I do spend more time with Him when I'm struggling to understand what He means - so that has to be a good thing!
