I have been thinking all week about how the gifts all work together. If someone won't submit to God in the "mundane" (quotes because it isn't really mundane) gifts like teaching and bible study , pastor's instructions , spouses or parents advice , etc....Then they come looking for a prophetic word to tell them some great thing.....

Sometimes God allows me to give them a word and sometimes not. We have had a few like that come on this thread this past few weeks.......

I tell my 15 year old son all the time.... Here is a word for you " pick up your socks "... he knows by now what I mean. Sometimes the voice of God sounds a lot like your wife or Mom.....Or Pastor.....

I used to hear this sort of teaching and think it was nice... But when God began to really show me this truth.... Here is a huge key for receiving prophetic words for those of you who are asking God for a word.....Thank God from the depths of your heart for all the ways that He has already spoken into your life. You will be amazed at how many strong prophetic words God will begin to send you.....

Thank you!!...............and YES....always hungry for MORE OF HIM.........just a vessel waiting and willing to be FILLED.........and FILLED....and FILLED SOME MORE!!!! Wanting only His truth...........waiting for more of Him.......to give to others....sharing....growing...learning together. I am so amazed at His love ........and His grace poured out!!!!

Could someone give a word to me then? I'm pretty much dead at the moment, I've been dead for quite awhile now. I'm stagnant, and don't know where to go. Could someone give me a word that will encourage me? Or perhaps give me some insight into the things that disturb my peace of mind?

Hello... Is your screen name Latin?
I can start with a general word of edification and wait upon God to see if He gives one of us a specific word for you and your situation....

1 “Ho! Every one who thirsts, come to the waters;
And you who have no money come, buy and eat.
Come, buy wine and milk
Without money and without cost.

Being thirsty is a really good place to start... God promises to respond to those who are thirsty for more of Him....

Some insight... Well , I guess I would start with this... There is a saying amongst the rabbi's that comes from observing how God does things in the scripture... It says that much of wisdom is found in the questions we ask sometimes even more so than the answers. Sometimes a question is actually a statement.....

Questions like "does God really speak " .." is the prophetic real ? " " are these people fake ? " just throwing out some examples....

You have been hurt by people in the church concerning the gifts of the Spirit and yet you seem to have an unrest that makes you keep seeking for something you can't put your finger on.....

I think I would start by praying for some emotional healing for you.....I wouldn't blame you for being angry but that anger isn't going to get you your answers....

Amadeo65 , a little more insight... stick with safe people for this season of your life... find some Christians who love you and can speak into your life out of a solid relationship.

When I used to play football , the coach would say that there were times when it was good to go back and emphasis the basic fundamentals.. Blocking , tackling , etc....

You would benefit from a season of some people who emphasis the fundamentals of the faith and have integrity speaking into your life....

Things like prayer and bible study of course , but also things like faith and forgiveness and God loving us..... Letting go of bitterness , etc.

The bible teaches that all of the gifts , including prophecy are to be done in love. The gifts are meant to help us with serving God. They are there for at key points to give direction , healing , etc.... But they are a poor substitute for the everyday discipleship of a good church......

Amadeo65, one more thing.... Then I am done with general insight and leave the floor open for anyone who has a specific word....

Patterns is the concept I would like to address. Strongholds.... It is important to not filter everything new that happens through the old memories that are giving you trouble. That makes it very difficult to go in a different direction.... Be open to some new things that The Lord wants to do in your life...the old wells may have given some water but they also made you ill. Time to look for some new watering holes......
