Folks,

I feel like I have been living in a wilderness. (This is not a complaint, nor should this be viewed as being whining. I am speaking objectively.) I am not suffering or anything like that (to the extent I am, its no more than what you are probably experiencing)... I don't feel like I am going through any particular trial, either. I mean, my present situation--relatively speaking--is not that bad. God has provided for us when we have needed it. Still, there are areas of my life where i have not seen any real growth, and to this extent I feel somewhat discouraged because prospects thereof seem dim in the short term.

Frankly, I don't really have a vision for my life--at least not in the near to medium term. Long term, yeah, there are things that I want to do; but if you were to ask me to write down my plan for getting there, I would not have the slightest clue.

I know that God has a plan for me, and I know that in His time, he will reveal it. However, I don't want to jump ahead of Him, nor do I want to stay put when I am supposed to move.

Any advice?

take the first step and trust God to guide the next one. When guideing a large ship (or small) there has to be forward motion before the rudder can steer.

Father...I thank you Lord for creating such a special person. Thank you Lord that your word will not return void. Thank you Lord for the things we understand and the things we don't. Lord...I present my friend to you God. You know what is on her heart. You knows what she goes to bed with on her mind every night. Lord....maybe this is just a time for you to love on her God. You are the Alpha and the Omega. You are all knowing and all powerful. God, we just humbly ask that you fill her with whatever it is that she is seeking. Thank you Lord...in Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Razz...why are you making people jump through hoops? You came in here guns blazing, condemning, then turn and ask for a word, when you get it you throw a fit and make people jump. That is rude. Maybe you need to seek God yourself for answers since the ones you are getting aren't what you want. I don't mean to be mean or offend, but I don't think you are being fair.

When I came upon this thread, I saw people praying for the HS to bless and guide and control, all I asked is that that same Spirit evidence His power in you all the way you claim He does. Put it to you this way, many many many times over the "church" has been hateful and evil toward us, we are a bit shy of laying it all out for the "church" to once again attack with evil desires. So how then do we know who is of God and who is not. The bible shows many examples of God revealing to His People, His messangers what is held in secret. Why? Because God knows what is in secret. I have no issue with the "prophecy" revealed, in fact, I thought I was pretty clear that I appreciated it, however, it was not what was hidden in secret, nor was it a message for where I am currently. As to the future, we always have moments so I am sure that someday it will be relavent again, but for the moment, it says nothing to me nor does it address the issues that I asked you to allow God to demonstrate in your lives. And instead of asking God why His power is not being revealed in this issue, you go off and blame me. I guess that should be a sign to me that the church can't be found here either, but, I hold hope, and that hope drives me to not pass judgment so readily.

I want to firstly point out that all prophecy on here is done in love and is completely scriptural.. Check out 1 Corinthians 14:3 It says clearly that the gift is for ".. edification, exhortation, and comfort." .. That is all we do here sister.. everything here is done in love and in the power of the Holy Spirit to encourage each other and stir each other up..

Now.. It might seem like fortune telling because THEY mimic US! Not the other way around... remember simon the sorcerer? He wanted the power the apostles had because not only did it exceed HIS power but it touched lives in a completely different way.. There ARE false prophesies and people can call on different kinds of spirits to do different kinds of things.. but check out this verse:

Sister.. there will be false prophets.. and there will be false prophesies.. but like our Father said.. What is the chaff to the wheat? When real prophesies are given there is fire in the hearts of those who hear.. the fire inside them is stirred with the power and encouragement of the Holy Spirit as He ministers to their hearts! It even tells us later that the Lord Himself is against those who prophecy wrongly or steal prophesies or tell false dreams and visions! Then He says, ".. therefore they shall not profit this people at all" (Talking about the prophets)!! What does this mean? We could possibly be encouraged by a false word.. there are people out there who can really deceive us into thinking the Lord has spoken.. but unless we PROFIT from the word.. and bear fruit from the truth spoken.. it cannot be a real word! We hear over and over in scripture that the word of the Lord is FIRE.. it is SHARP and cuts straight to the heart... all that false prophesies do is tickle our ears and give us the fuzzies!

So in a way I agree with you sister.. there ARE false prophesies out there.. but I've been here long enough to learn the heart of all those in here regularly.. these are committed people wanting to minister to other people and practice the prophetic gift the Holy Spirit has placed inside them!

1 Corinthians 14:1, 14:5, 14:22, 14:31, 14:39

All these verses speak of prophecy and that it is meant to build up the church.. the last two also speak of practicing the gift so that all can learn and be encouraged!! In 14:39 Paul tells us to desire earnestly to prophesy!! We are not putting prophecy on a throne here.. prophecy is nothing but a gift.. But if we want to move in the power of the early church we need to actually desire God's power! That's why our church is so ordinary these days! People settle for the lesser things when there is fresh wine and milk for free!! Anyway.. I hope these words are accepted in love and not in any way mean! Blessings!

it is these ideas that compelled me to stay and say anything at all. As I have said, I have known some true prophecies. I also know that the words spoken here for me did nothing. They were appreciated as I appreciate every word from the bible. But they did not burn, they did not minister beyond the general "how nice". Prophecy is more as you point out here. All I am looking for is a church that acts like the biblical church. What I found was general "prophecies" and false accusations about my purpose. And to my dear friend who offered a prophecy, I am not trying to pick on you at all, I am rather suggesting that there is a difference between sharing scriptures that God leads us to and prophecying. I appreciate the passages and loved them, but they didn't meet the qualifications of prophecy. Should I be condemned for that?

I am not trying to be rude. I will say this. If this thread does not edify you, then it is not for you. Just because it is not on your 'level', does not mean that God is not using his people here and many are being blessed..

I would not want to think that you would come in here to cause strife.

If this thread is not 'meat' enough for you, then it is just not the place for you. It is however, the place that God has used to minister to and help others.

I honestly don't believe that God is pleased with this kind of division that you are bringing. It is just not right, and I believe you know it.

I pray for peace again on this thread in the name of Jesus for all who come in here to hear a word from God and those who God uses to give it. In Jesus name Amen...

God gives grace to the humble and resists the proud.

Razzel....I do feel as though you are searching for a deeper meaning. As if...there is something you can't quite put your finger on...know what I mean. And God longs for you to draw closer as well. Not saying that He wants you to draw closer biblically....because you know the Bible like the back of your hand. But He wants to KNOW you more intimately. He you to take him out of the "box" and become so intimate with Him...that it will be as if you were never separated from Him.

Interesting concept when I have been told repeatedly that tone cannot come through on a board like this and yet you claim to know my tone and heart. Fascinating.

And btw, when the church attacks your husband for preaching that we need to love our neighbors, and he doesn't buckle because it is the word of God and so they attack spouse, and when that isn't enough to cave him and so they attack the children, it is the churches problem and not my own. Loving our neighbors is so basic to the Bible that it should never be an issue for the church to hear the message. But what is even worse is when the ordeal is over and the denominational leaders defend the church and not the pastor not because the pastor was wrong but because the job of the pastor "is to keep peace not to preach the word of God," I dare you to tell me that the church is not at fault for hurting the children of God. But that is another topic and one that should not be coming up on this forum at this time. What is mine to own I will own, what is not mine, I will not take. That includes the pains the church has inflicted as well as my tone on this thread. I came seeking the church in a manner common in scripture. Nothing more nothing less. So far, the jury is still out as to whether it can be found here or not.

Oh....but you have been shown love...have you not?? We are humans...we make mistakes. We will ALWAYS fail...as we are not Jesus...thus not perfect. But what you will find in here...is a loving group of people....and I think you have simply been misunderstood. No...we will not be "fortunetellers" as you mentioned in your first post...but we will help edify you. Lift you up... pray for you. And as the Holy Spirit moves...we will share with one another. My sister....you can have the very thing that you seek..You just cannot look at it carnally. It is not something that would be understood that way. It is something that is expressed with love. and I am sorry if we as a whole have not showed you that. May we start over??? Try to help you and be a friend???

Why should that cause strife at all? I am here because I love the word of God and need fellowship. But I am also here because I need a word of prophecy. Asking for that word should not cause strife or heartack or division, not on a thread that is all about prophecy. So why is it causing strife and division? Is it so wrong to hold prophecy to the biblical standard? Or should I just accept everything people speak as from God even though the bible says it isn't? What would you have of me? To just disappear because I Love the Lord with all my heart, mind, and exceedingly and want all of Him that I can possibly drink in? How terrible of me!!

My apologizes for bringing my Love for God and my zeal to know Him into your little party.

May you all find the God you seek and may you learn that Love is not found in the Amen corner, but rather in the hearts and minds and souls of all God's creation.

Razzel....I do not know why God has not revealed to us anymore than what he has...besides the fact that you are waiting on provisions....but is there something we can pray for you for. I feel as though you are going through something horrible?? I don't believe in mistakes...and there has to be a reason you came in here...I don't want to miss out on it.
