Prophetic practice thread (6)

The Spirit is holding my tongue and has silenced me tonight.

It makes me sad.

Sometimes the Lord works in your silence. When we converse with him, we have to be willing to be silent and listen instead of talking too quickly. You will see, it will be like a flood gate opening of words that won't stop, once you have been prepared by the Lord and what he wants to be said. *lol* Be blessed!

I thought this was prophetic practice thread. 3/4 of what I read "and I read em" all; is chatter and or words of encouragement not true prophecy.


I only saw like maybe 25 % that was actually prophecy and Spiritlead and HephzibahBenJudah haven't even posted in a while.

Where do they post?
Is there a thread on CF for True Prophecies?

you know, this disturbed me. I know you do mean well but: This is a practice prophesy thread and not a fortune telling thread. many people seem to think that fortune telling is more in line with prophesy but it isn't. Prophesy is ENCOURAGEMENT OF THE SAINTS. and that is what is done here. Just because it doesn't meet the standard i guess that some make it to be, doesn't mean that it is not USED OF GOD and I hope that people still post WORDS THAT THE LORD LAYS ON THEIR HEART here in this thread when ever they feel led of the Lord to do it. Please do not DOUBT what you feel the Lord desiring you to SHARE WITH YOUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CHRIST. Have confidence in Christ and Him alone. There are two things:

Word of Knowledge

and Word of wisdom. BOTH ARE OF THE LORD and BOTH are PROPHETIC.

keep prophesying in TRUTH and LOVE. may the Lord be praised and glorified.

I had to pull this quote out..as the Lord told me..."not" to post in here...unless this was brought forward! What Aneeka brought forth...first of all, and then you are right about what a prophetic word is supposed to be, but I kinda agree with Aneeka....

And, yea...here it is...I "knew" and not sure how...but this thread had begun to sound like fortunetellers I have known. Like.."can I have a word for today"? Isn't it supposed to be more like chatting with one another...and "then, IF a word flows"..it just would come! Not forced! I used to tell fortunes...that is how I know how this thread had seemed to evolve into fortunetelling.

And, I truly believe "all" that has been said here and done...God will totally use for His good purpose and I am totally NOT trying to make anyone feel guilty...NOT my job. Hope I haven't offended anyone here, as this post I think...is more for "me" to acknowledge that something wasn't quite right in this thread, and it could mess with my fagile head...So sorry about that, but thought I should at least mention how I felt...even if it is only me! Thank you for reading this, and like I said...this was not for guilting anyone...just an observation that I made while playing in here.

I agree with you in that my sister.. I think there has to be a middle ground and a calm center where we can come..

Also.. If we're just fellowshipping in here.. and someone comes and asks for a word then we pray and if we get anything we tell them.. but if not we won't say anything or tell them that we didn't get anything.. Sometimes we need to know who needs a word when they come in here so we can pray for them..

You do have a GREAT point though sister.. we should be seeking the Lord ourselves.. but it's also good to practice prophecy and to covet prophecy but not to ASK for words and covet words.. GREAT point my sister

I feel the same thing when people come in and expect to get a word like God is a magic 8 ball.. but there are times when I could use a word and I just ask if anyone has a word for me or what the Lord is saying.. It's totally different when someone comes in here everyday and is inquiring of the Lord on their part because they want to know what the Lord is saying everyday to them without seeking Him themselves.. I agree with you in that my sister.. I think there has to be a middle ground and a calm center where we can come..

i agree with both hannah and you steven. I just wanted people to see akeenas words and know that it isn't suppose to be an on the demand fortune reading and that sometimes the Lord only give one literal word and other times it is an outpooring. either way I am excited when the Lord moves. And I was not judging akeena either.

There is nothing wrong with asking a word from the Lord. it is when we expect someone to have like date time and why something is happening that we have to watch out for.

Thank you for your response. I even told the Lord..."I was afraid" to mention how I was feeling, but now I am sooo glad I did! And, AMEN...to the "can I have a word" peeps that pop in and out of here!

Really prophecy isn't an eight ball fortune!

I said "I was a fortuneteller as many women in my family before me were"....and I know how to "PLAY" that game. I could have come in here and tricked "everyone" into believing I was the real deal...But like psalmistspraise said...Prophecy is to uplift the body of our Lord...not to be used to forsee the future..AS THAT IS GODS JOB...not ours.

I came here to "try" to spread my wings and "use the gift God gave me", but the more time I spent here...the more often I heard that small still voice saying..."Not for you, as this thread sits"...and I have "learned" the hard way...TO LISTEN TO HIM!

NOW...I feel since this has been brought into the light...I can learn to try again, amen! Thanks bro for the backup!

I do have to say though...that there is NOTHING in this thread that is not of God. I would not be operating in it if it was not. And I DO believe that God speaks through us...as confirmation has spoken for itself. I do not like the term of...."there is something going on in this thread" like something bad is happening or that I am trying to "fortune tell". This thread sits simply to show that it is a God driven and that God moves in waves. If it was our will...it would be a constant, man driven thing.
