  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

spiritlead, sorry for the late reply, alot going on.

I feel you are such a blessing to us all and your teaching will help us greatly.
I am thinking of flowers blooming for some reason, opening up as if we are being opened up to something new.
Flowers that will produce seeds all around the world, for Gods glory.
Bringing more closer to Christ.
Then a hot wind whithers the flowers before God sends a refreshing rain and all are renewed, and we all shine in His awesome glory.Eternally.

Not sure if that was from me or not.
I felt strange typing it though, maybe it means something to someone.

Good word bro, nice shark too!! Keep praying for posters, and share what God shows you:amen:

My health, thast what I want a word for. Yes, I am going to the doctor this week, just want a Word from the Lord.

The Lord says

My precious child, I am calling you into my presence to praise and worship Me in song, and don't be in a hurry to leave my presence, for I am going to fill you with my power and anointing and all of your worries, cares, and fears will be gone, daughter, for I am your God that healeth thee, but you can't walk in health unless you allow me to fill thee with my Spirit and power, come and spend quality time until I give you breakthrough and surely you shall be healed, and you shall walk in a new joy, a new peace, and a new power like never before, for I am a rewarder of those who diligently seek Me:prayer:

Spiritlead has a gift that we should stop and thank GOD for...let us not get caught up in "worshipping the gift" instead of the gift-giver. God uses others to help direct our paths but don't ever let it take the place of hearing God for yourself...it's called the B I B L E...the more word you put in...the more the Holy SPirit will have to work with..when you need a word for any given situation. Little bit of bible in little bit you can hear back...More Word in More Word back when you need it.
The Holy Spirit knows how to lead us...He's doing His job are we doing ours by Meditating on the Word of God...God told Joshua this....and it applies to all of us in any time or situation...

Jos 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Jos 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God [is] with thee whithersoever thou goest.

spiritlead, It would probably be best if you preceeded your statements with The Lord God says to you-
That way its God's word, not yours, and if not, then all would know.

I know that this is a bit belated (I have been otherwise engaged with family matters and have not been on the forum for a while).

I agree with not using the first person when giving NT prophecy. No one really has the right to put themselves into God's shoes and speak as if directly from Him. I don't believe that it is appropriate for NT prophecy in the same way that it was appropriate for OT prophecy.

With OT prophecy, the Lord did give His word directly to His prophets. That is why the words of the Prophets are part of Holy Scripture. Jesus validated it as such because He quoted from the Prophets at times and signalled that some of these prophecies were being fulfilled in His time.

NT prophecy is totally different. Spirit filled people speak as they are prompted by the Holy Spirit within them. They speak and allow the Holy Spirit to apply their words to the hearer. They do not try and put an authority on their words when they speak them. They trust the Holy Spirit to speak through the words to the listener as He wills. When the Holy Spirit speaks, He does not need the speaker to assist Him by adopting the first person authoritative voice of God.

Adopting the first person and speaking like God in a prophecy brings the danger of misrepresenting the Lord by saying things that He may not be saying. It is much better to adopt a more humble approach and trust the Holy Spirit to apply the words as He wills.

I am not afraid of saying "I will just say what comes to me, and if the Holy Spirit speaks to you through them, it will be an encouragement for both of us", than to say "Thus says the Lord", etc, putting the person hearing the prophecy in an unfair position of having to accept the word or else. We do not have the right to do that to people, and this type of presentation has caused much grief to many because less experienced people have accepted the words as from the Lord and then been bitterly disappointed when the words have not been fulfilled.

By adopting a humble position when giving a prophecy allows the hearer to "take it or leave it" without any conflict or sense that they are "disobeying God" by choosing not to accept the word given.

I would go further to say that what has destroyed the faith of many aspiring NT "prophets" on this forum is the inappropriate and incompetent use of the first person and the "thus says the Lord" approach to prophecy, along with lengthy and boring OT style prophecies that have plenty of sound and fury, but according to Shakespeare, "signify nothing". I never read those long, involved, boring OT stype prophecies, and I don't believe for one minute that God ever speaks through them. My opinion is that all the "prophet" is doing is to show how great a prophet he is, when all the time he is just a proud fool, speaking a lot of verbal garbage.

So, it is important that we be not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is, especially in the operation of the prophetic.

I just need to add here that I am not putting Spiritlead's prophecies down. They are being a blessing to many on this forum and I fully support them. But I would discourage the use of the first person. You can say "I believe that this is what the Lord could be saying..." or, "If Jesus was here I think He will say this to you..." and be quite acceptable. By putting yourself aside and using the third person, you are then putting more trust in the Holy Spirit to apply your words in the way He wants. The more trust you put in Him, the more He will apply your words and make them a blessing to others. He has the power and authority to speak to the hearts of people. He doesn't need your help, other than your obedience to say the words in the right way.

Thank you. Oh my, people have told me not to sing in public.

But the other stuff is right on. I have had the gift of knowledge before.
It is edifying to you to ask the Lord for a word for us, isn't it?
When I pray for others, it makes me feel useful and draws me closer to God.:amen:
Bless you brother.

I was going to pass this by with a sort of "eeek!!" in my heart because it seemed that Spiritlead might have got it wrong about your singing. But I was prompted to come back and ask you these things:

Do you have a heart's desire to sing for the Lord?
If you do, then would you be prepared to go to a singing teacher and get some training?
So, instead of giving singing away, believing that you could never be used of the Lord that way, Spiritlead's word may be a prompt for you to go and test it out with a singing professional to see whether you have the makings of a good singing voice which could be enhanced and made really good with some professional training.

I believe that God supports being properly trained for things like that. There is a small minority of people who are naturally gifted in most things, including singing; but the vast majority need training and practice to achieve their goals. You might be one of those people.

Therefore, if you really want in your heart to sing for the Lord and have a ministry in it, then explore the possibility with a singing teacher. You might be surprised and blessed by what you discover.

If one has a prophecy and it does not come to pass, then we know it wasn't from the Lord.
No problem, tis happened before.
Do you think it unnecessary for us to get an encouraging word, which made Me draw closer to God because of this thread?
Discernment, sir.

Singing. I love to sing, especially in worship when the others drown me out.

You are totally correct. I have no doubt that the prophecies given here to encourage people are doing just that. I believe that we all need an encouraging word from time to time, and it is a special blessing when someone who does not know about our personal circumstances gives an accurate word that we know could only have come from the Holy Spirit.

Ever since I joined this forum in 2005, I have consistently taught that it is wiser to use the third person when giving prophetic words. and I have modelled that in the prophecies I have given. But in saying that, I am not saying that using the first person makes Spiritlead's prophecies wrong. The fruit of the ministry is proving that the words he is giving are a real blessing and encouragement to people. The issue for me, and it always has been, the use of the first person.

I agree with not using the first person when giving NT prophecy. No one really has the right to put themselves into God's shoes and speak as if directly from Him. I don't believe that it is appropriate for NT prophecy in the same way that it was appropriate for OT prophecy.

So according to you, the Apostle John was acting unappropriately, above the authority and right that God had given him when he proclaimed the prophecy that is written in Revelation?

Revelation is pretty much the most prominent example of NT prophecy in the Bible, and 'thus sayeth the Lord' is used numerous times in that book.

Some more examples where christians claim to speak directly from Him:

Acts 27
23Last night an angel of the God whose I am and whom I serve stood beside me 24and said, 'Do not be afraid, Paul. You must stand....

Acts 21:11
Coming over to us, he took Paul's belt, tied his own hands and feet with it and said, "The Holy Spirit says, 'In this way the Jews of Jerusalem will bind the owner of this belt and will hand him over to the Gentiles.' "

Acts 10
"You are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with a Gentile or visit him. But God has shown me that I should not call any man impure or unclean. 29So when I was sent for, I came without raising any objection. May I ask why you sent for me?"

Although I realize, Oscarr, that this is your view of NT prophecy, I don't understand why you seem to ignore the fact that 'thus sayeth the Lord' is used in the New Testament.

I use to pray and ask God for a singing voice..I never told anyone about it..It was my hearts desire for years.......

One day minding my own business and guy told me, " Do you sing? I said, No, he said the Lord told me to tell you you will sing one day'..

A month later someone else I did not know said to me the exact words he said, Do you sing? I said, No.....She said the Lord told me to tell you you will sing one day just start singing as much as possible as practice....

I begin to sing even more at home, my voice got better and better and better and better......I never went to get lessons.....

But, I have a beautiful voice now.....amazingly beautiful.......and I am sure it will improve even more over time....

God can do all things! :)

I'm like you!

I haven't had confirmations, only that my voice has become so much nicer in the past year. I'm still practicing and singing along to music as much as possible, and I'm teaching myself the guitar to help with hearing if I'm not singing off key :p .

Awesome testimony! (gives me hope  )
