  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Proof???!!!!!

Carbon is not dust! Carbon is most commonly found as graphite or (rarely) as diamonds. Dihydrogen monoxide is not dust, it's often found as a clear, odorless liquid, and occasionally an invisible gas or a glassy crystallized structure in cold temperatures. None of these compounds have anything in common with dust. Learn what you are talking about before spewing absurdities.

Noone would rather believe in God. He is too scary.
Paradoxically, people who do believe in God are emotionally attached to this belief, despite (or, perhaps, because of) his scariness. I explicitly remember when I was letting go of my belief, that is was a very emotionally trying time for me. For a time, I wanted to believe quite strongly. The evidence just didn't support it.

Now that a significant amount of time has passed, however, I have gotten used to not believing, and furthermore have recognized a large number of horrible consequences of the existence of a deity, such that I no longer have any desire to believe in one.

I tried not to believe but as I really looked and studied and looked and studied I kept having no choice but to realize the Bible is 100 % accurate and science just keeps proving it right.
Now this is just utter nonsense. The Bible is just a horrid mass of contradictions. People have rather long lists of these, such as:
http://www.infidels.org/library/modern/donald_morgan/contradictions.html

And there are many more contradictions that appear due to differences in tone. For example, the author of Mark portrays a very different personality of Jesus than does the author of Luke. But really, it only takes one contradiction to demonstrate that the Bible is unreliable. There are hundreds to choose from. So why not this one?
[bible]2 Samuel 24:1[/bible]
[bible]1 Chronicles 21:1[/bible]

The context of these chapters make it clear that this is the exact same census. And yet, these seem to be saying the exact opposite. Which was it, then? Did God incite David to perform the census, or did Satan? Or were both interpretations just the superstitious attributions of an unpopular act by an otherwise popular king to different mythical beings by two different authors?

Humans and all mammals have some 50,000 genes. That implies we have, as an order of magnitude estimate, some 50,000 proteins. It is estimated that there are some 30 million species of animal life on Earth. If the genomes of all animals produced 50,000 proteins, and no proteins were common among any of the species (a fact we know to be false, but an assumption that makes our calculations favor the random evolutionary assumption), there would be (30 million x 50,000) 1.5 trillion (1.5 x 1012 ) proteins in all life. (The actual number is vastly lower). Now let's consider the likelihood of these viable combinations of proteins forming by chance, recalling that, as the events following the Cambrian explosion taught us, not all combinations of proteins are viable.

This is just whacky. What few fossils we have from the Cambrian is just a small portion of what existed. On top of that, all of the organisms that existed in the Cambrian are a small subset of what could have evolved. This is why these calculations are wrong, because it fails to take into account the organisms that are not present in the fossil record and the organisms that could have evolved but didn't.

Therefore, your 1.5E12 (E is std. nomenclature for [x 10^]) is flat wrong. It also fails to take into account the genetic variation WITHIN species. For example, there are around 400 variations of the human DRB1 gene, as one example.

Proteins are coils of several hundred amino acids. Take a typical protein to be a chain of 300 amino acids. There are 20 commonly occurring amino acids in life. This means that the number of possible combinations of the amino acids in our model protein is 20300 or in the more usual ten-based system of numbers, 10390 . Nature has the option of choosing among the possible 10390 proteins, the 1.5 x 1012 proteins of which all viable life is composed. Can this have happened by random mutations of the genome?

Scientists observe novel proteins being produced by random mutation all of the time. The fact that it is observed to happen means that it is not that improbable.

As an example, there is the nylon bug which evolved an enzyme that metabolizes nylon oligomers. If you could, please calculate the probability of a bacteria evolving an enzyme that can metabolize nylon.

Hundreds of thousands of biologists do believe in God, but they also accept the theory of evolution. How do you explain that?

I tried not to believe but as I really looked and studied and looked and studied I kept having no choice but to realize the Bible is 100 % accurate and science just keeps proving it right.

Then how do you explain the 200,000 orthologous ERV's shared between humans and chimps? This is the DNA evidence which evidences evolution.

Nonsense. I would very, very much like to believe in God. I'd love it. The problem is that there just isn't any evidence so support such a belief...so despite the fact that such a belief would be very pleasant, I cannot hold it.

I have seen too much evidence especially with the miraculous healing of my neck not to believe in God.

But not having to fear going to hell would be very pleasant too.

Scientist that believe in God and evolution do not believe in the teory of Humans evolving from some other species.

The so called evolution I believe in is the gradual mutation of all species.

For instance humans are on average taller now.
We have I guess evolved or mutated but we are still human.

Reptiles and most everything else has mutated and is smaller.

Micro organisms will sat micro organisms after mutation.

Reptiles will stay reptiles after Mutation.

Apes will stay apes after mutation.

Yes, they do. Several examples of scientists who accept the theory of evolution - including the descent of man - exist on this forum.

Micro organisms will sat micro organisms after mutation.

Unless the mutation causes them to bunch together in colonies. Do you acknowledge that this has occurred?

Apes will stay apes after mutation.

Fine - humans are apes, so no conflict there.

I have seen zero evidence despite avidly searching for it for the last twenty five years.

But not having to fear going to hell would be very pleasant too.
I don't fear going to hell in the least.

can you show anyone else that god healed your neck? or show that it was even healed supernaturally as opposed to naturally?

But not having to fear going to hell would be very pleasant too.
yes because a god who has a place for those who don't follow his rules is loving and forgiving..

sure they do.. i think most of them believe that god gave humans something special after they evolved, but of course i don't really know what all TE's believe. oh and neither do you
The so called evolution I believe in is the gradual mutation of all species.
well theres more to it than that, lots more, this looks like a straw-man to me

For instance humans are on average taller now.
We have I guess evolved or mutated but we are still human.
no one argues against this, its a straw-man

Reptiles and most everything else has mutated and is smaller.

Micro organisms will sat micro organisms after mutation.

Reptiles will stay reptiles after Mutation.

Apes will stay apes after mutation.
purely a limited understanding of the theory on your part. might help if you learn what the theory says instead of building a straw-man

yes because a god who has a place for those who don't follow his rules is loving and forgiving..

Yes God forgives after repentance that is why Yeshua died like he did.

Yes my MRI's showed the damage.

The doctors had been unable to do anything for the pain for years.

A lady prayed for my neck layed hands on it. Her hands turned cold adn within a couple weeks I qas 100 % healed and could do anything I could ebfore the accident and still to this day zero pain.
It has been about a year and a half now since my healing.

There are zero contradictions I will answer them one by one as you post them.

please only one at a time per post..

This one is talking about 2 seperate events of census.

But even it were the same event in time then God simply used Satan to get his wil done and get David to do the census.

See how easy that is to understand when you are not decieved??

These "problems" are pathetic! Take the skin "problem." An amphibian must spend its life near water to avoid drying out and so cannot escape predators or find food far from water. Therefore if it takes longer to dry out, say by having thicker skin, it will be more successful. That's evolutionary pressure, so it evolves.

With tadpoles, all that has to happen is for more of the developmental stage to take place in the egg. Having a hard egg that could develop on land avoided all the animals looking for a tasty, protein-rich treat.

Thank you for correcting some of the greatest scientifc minds who have the courage to point out the truth.

I think you should spend some more time studying creation SCIENCE rather than the faulty bias secular science when it comes to these things.

The human skulls are the ones that look like yours and mine.

The similar ones are just an extinct breed if intelligent monkey.

Can you be more specific?

Is I a man or a monkey?
How about J?
C?

Come on Carey, you can tell the difference, right?

"courage"...riight, like scientists are too scared to speak their mind...have you ever actually met a scientist?

I think you should spend some more time studying creation SCIENCE rather than the faulty bias secular science when it comes to these things.

Please feel free to point to some creation science, and we wil study it!

BTW, "science" is not popular press or non-reviewed unevidenced critiques of other people's work. point us to this original data and interpretation there of in the creation science field.
