Why? Why would it be a deist idea of God?

That's because half of the founding Fathers were Deist. Remember, most of our founding Fathers were educated during the Enlightenment Age in Europe where Deism was in high gear. As the Age of Enlightenment educated crossed the Atlantic they brought with them their ideas of liberty, democracy, republicanism and religious tolerance (central to the Age of Enlightenment thought) to the American Colonies which "culminated in the drafting of the Declaration of Independence".

Tell me, What things are Christians doing to atheists as far as restricting their rights and freedoms? I think you are still trying to find an excuse for just plain bad behavior.

This is just two examples of how Christians actively harass and discriminate against atheists.

Being a homosexual is indeed a choice, just as being a liar, adulterer, idolater, fornicator, thief, drunkard or any other thing we choose to be.


But there is Hope, we can come to Christ, repent and all be washed clean and forgiven.

No it isn't. A person's sexual identity is genetically encoded within them.

Have a look at how many gay people commit suicide over the stress of being what they have been told is an abomination. If it was really just a choice, don't you think they'd just change?

I'm here, i live and thats proof enough for me. I sure didn't come from a primate, and where did the primates come from anyway? And what came before that? Something had to be first with no beginning or end.

Yes and yes again. Just because you feel a tendency to act in a certain way does not mean you have to act on that tendency. You can not choose to be black or white or male or female, but you can choose what type of lifestyle you live. How is that being "absolutely revolting"?

You think people with a 'tendency' to act a certain way would die for it?
You think people with a 'tendency' to do something would live their lives in fear and constant stress of losing jobs, losing their families, or even in extreme (though unfortunately not so extreme) cases, being killed, if only they would start liking the opposite sex?

You are simplifying this so that it fits with what your religion has taught you- that homosexuality is wrong. It is this belief, at the core, that needs addressing.

And then people who believe as you do vote to restrict the rights of homosexuals. And then, the non-religious get angry. See how this goes?

Truth is you cant prove God doesn't exist any more than you can prove He does and that's the way he wanted it i guess.

Everyone here is discriminating and no one has proven anything. Only thing that matters is what we believe, and if there really is a God it matters a lot, if there isn't it doesn't matter. I think it wise to err on the side of caution, that seems logical and rational.
