  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

has anyone here masturbated cause your really lonely i have you can't really call it a addiction becuase i do it once in a while when i get lonely and it makes me feel better what are your thoughts on this how do you feel after doing this.
First do not think your a one off and every one else is ok and has no probs with it.
Second God really cares about you and loves you dearly and knows the loneliness and feelings of the need of someone to be close to.
Three try and avoid thoughts they are the ones that cause us to sin, this perhaps more a man weakness than a woman? not sure.
Four If you ask 100 people they will all have differnet views on it. You will have those who will adamently say its wrong and those who will say the opposite.
Five a Thought "Its Ok for a man and wife to have sex 4 times a weak and have relief and pleasure yet If a single person masterbates sometimes in weakness and lonlieness of shear sexual tension they are thought as less than spiritual by some, or wrong"
You must do what you think is right lil sis before God and do not let people put their opinions on you and cause you to carry a heavy burden of self denial that some cannot carry.

Excellent posts so far. Sometimes when we have a gap of thought, and loneliness overwhelms us, yes that can happen. People will tell you it's wrong and even use Scripture to back it up.

OT= when whoevers seed was spilt on the ground (but in context, that had to do with the fact that whoever it was was meant to be producing according to God's will and instruction, and in that case it was rebellion against G-d. For a single person, I think there is a different context)
NT = speaks of fornicating (but if I understand that right, there needs to be TWO people to fornicate)
and of abusing the body (I think this speaks of somethings else.

BASICALLY... AF777, I think your fine and don't worry about it.

I used to struggle a great deal with the issue of masturbation, but I grew tired of the fact that it never released any sexual tension for me.

Yes, I am lonely. No, a companion will not fulfill every desire I have, nor is a relationship with a woman all about sex, but that is a facet. What helps is to find something else to do. Ignoring that temptation, after about a month, becomes easier.

In order to make it to a month, you have to live moment-by-moment, like I've learned to do.

This is more common then what you think.... not just with single guys either. Yes, us girls have our issues because we are human and have hormones.

If you end up "dealing" with being lonely somedays, don't beat yourself down about. Just try to stay active and channel your energy into other things.

My personal take on masturbation? It's not a sin in itself (I don't see how touching yourself is wrong, if so when you use the restroom it's a sin)....

However, it's the lusting that is sinful, and I find it hard to separate the lust from mastubation. I have no biblical basis to say masturbation is sinful, but lust is.

Bottomline, if you do it sometimes, ah well... not the end of the world. If you've found a permanent solution, come back and share what worked for you..... could help ALOT of people.

Many urologists recommend that men who are not having sex regularly should touch. My MD called it a use it or lose it issue, although I doubt celibacy would render anybody impotent. There are some studies indicating that masturbation reduces the risk of prostate cancer - toxins are purged from the system. Women might want to consult their OB/GYN.

This is a comment on the medical issues only.

I don't think there is anything bad, naughty, salacious, or sinful about masturbation in and of itself. Adult humans are sexual beings, regardless of whether or not they have a partner. That's how God designed our bodies. Would it bother me if my future spouse has masturbated? No. If it's not an addiction, then I don't see what the problem is.

One thing I have heard: There is a chemical that is released in our bodies each time we have sex... that makes us bond with our partner. Problem is that it gets used up... This is meant to be why guys who do the multiple-sleep-around-free-for-all thing struggle to commit eventually.

But what somebody said earlier that the M... business prevents Prostate Cancer and Impotence should make us all feel a whole lot better. (or butter)

Now that's we've got prostate cancer as an excuse *coughs*, I mean a "reason", we have to come up with one for the ladies.
Haha, well some ethnic groups are much more prone to prostate cancer than others... so I guess you could suggest regular masturbation and/or sex as a "preventative procedure."
