I don't think anybody quite groks the OP. I'm having a hard time contextualizing any of the discussion, actually.

Read "I'm OK, You're OK." If you still don't understand it, go to a simpler thread.

If God sends his rain on the just and on the unjust what hope have we to stay dry?

None, IF YOU DON'T HAVE SENSE ENOUGH TO COME IN OUT OF IT. Sheesh!

(Really, I can't count that high.)

Well, it just seems to me that the human species is doing pretty well for itself, survival-wise. I'd say we're pretty fit.

If man were examined in the light of science, he makes no sense whatsoever.
If this sentence were examined in the light of logic, it makes no sense whatsoever.

But in the light of the bible, as a creature created to do exactly as he does, man makes perfect sense.
We were created to lie, cheat and murder? No, no and thrice, no.

And this isn't going to change anytime soon.
Don't believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit then?

If guess what you were trying to say in a garbled @rse-over-elbow kind of way was that science cannot give us meaning, rather God does in his revelation through scripture, which I'd agree with. You have an odd way of stating it though.

Perhaps I should have presented my thoughts better.

Regards scientific observation of the human species: Mankinds behavior makes no sense when contrasted with his physical characteristics (fearfully and wonderfully evolved). A nearly perfect organism behaving so imperfectly.

Regards creation: God could have created man to behave perfectly, not giving him the choice of good and evil by simply not allowing evil to exist. This he didn't do, instead he gave us both choices, but not the moral strength to resist evil. Therefore we behave as God intended for us (until he calls us to repentance).

Another confusion of the 'Image of God' with our physical form.

Nearly perfect? What's so perfect about us as as organism?

Wrong, God is not the author of sin, we were not created for sin.
