An interesting thought that ties together several resurrection verses. Christ raises believers incorruptible, but who raises the wicked dead, something I have not though on yet.
1 Corinthians 15 is all about the church, not the world. And the verses on the resurrection of the dead partly prove that.
It begins with Paul describing the gospel by which you stand, that Christ died for OUR sins according to the scriptures, that He rose again from the dead.
And here we read the dead will be raised incorruptible. This refers back to John 6 about Christ raising us believers on the last day, and Luke 20 of those worthy who attain the resurrection from the dead. This is not for the wicked dead, but for the righteous dead justified in Christ by God are to be raised incorruptible. Yet the wicked will also be raised but not incorruptible, and not raised by Christ but by God the Father at the great white throne judgement in Revelations.
51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound,
and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal
must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”
The Revelation verse of the dead raised.
Revelation 20:5
But the rest of the
dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This
is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy
is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.
Revelation 20:12
And I saw the
dead, small and great,
standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is
the Book of Life. And the
dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.
Revelation 20:13
The sea gave up the
dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the
dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works.
