Preterists: Are they ALL in one place?

Preterists ask: If there will no longer be wicked people in the new heavens and new earth, why does the Bible teach that the gates of the city will remain open and no wicked people will enter it.

Futurists ask: If this prophecy has been fulfilled in 70 AD, are ALL Preterists (whose names have been written in the Book of Life) confined in the "new Jerusalem" where wicked people are NOT allowed to enter?

Hi Ed,

Preterists believe that all of God's people (those who've been saved by grace and follow God all the days of their lives) are in the New Jerusalem.  Thankfully, one doesn't have to be a preterist to acknowledge that we are somehow surrounded by our brethren in heaven (Heb 12:1) and that we're literally in the heavenly Jerusalem (Heb 12:22-24).  I think Gal 4:26, Heb 12:22, Rev 21:2 all refer to the same thing.

I also believe that the New Jerusalem, the city which is the bride of the Lamb (Rev 21:2) is none other than the church (Eph 5:26-27).

The Church is the Elect, the very Body of Christ.

Hey Ed, the New Heaven and New Earth is of course the New Creation - "if any man be in Christ he is a new creation, the old has past away." 2Cor 5:17.
