Which I should really not say because I will mess up what I mean until I find the right words first. But that was good to know, thanks for giving me something to look at, thats rare when someone does that for me ^_^

Thats interesting, I never heard of the Salem part referred to as Jerusalem, although I do get that Peace part and Jerusalem part. I have to look into that. I was thinking when some folks were calling Salem where Melchizedek was a King a pagan place (and his priesthood was pagan) I was scratching my head as to how on earth that could be. So then I was trying to look at it only in light of Melchizedek's priesthood (as far as it applies to the risen Christ) a light to the Gentiles (so to speak) in the whole comparing thing (backwards/forwards) and trying to catch a gimpse of that back there.

Which I should really not say because I will mess up what I mean until I find the right words first. But that was good to know, thanks for giving me something to look at, thats rare when someone does that for me ^_^
The late Dr. Michael Heiser covered the subject in great detail.

Take your time it's 4 podcasts put together. Or you can go here and listen one by one. I've listened to most of his almost 500 podcasts. He was a Hebrew Scholar that wanted to reach out to lay people.}

I will cut off every trace of Baal from this place, The names of the idolatrous priests with the pagan priests—Zephaniah 1:4

“See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes.” Zechariah 3:4
Clothe Your priests with salvation; 2 Chron 6:41

Shhh stop your blabbing.
For the Lord has prepared a sacrifice; and He has consecrated His guests. Zeph 1:7
It's not blabbing by asking,
"How are they coming up with Jesus Christ being" called of God an high priest after the order of a pagan priest"
It's an intelligent question to ask How a pagan priest can be the priest of the most high God.
Why don't you ask your intelligent question to whomever posted the twisted concept, since any believing soul knows that Christ is the High Priest of God.
Having a High Priest over the house of God, draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith; Heb 10:19-22
After He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, this Man sat down at the right hand of God, from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are sanctified. Heb 10:12-14

The Messiah’s Reign
The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” ... (Matthew 22:43-45)
The Lord has sworn And will not relent, “You are a Priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek.” Ps 110:1-4

He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him, called by God as High Priest “according to the order of Melchizedek,” Heb 5:9-10
Not really asking you, I know you don't know just putting it out there.
And I'll just put it out there that they're unskilled in the word of righteousness and need milk and not premium meat. Heb 5:9-14

But blessed are those whom the Lord finds awake; He will have them recline at the table and serve them meat. Luke 12:37
(You cannot partake of the Lord’s table and of the table of idolatrous priests; 1 Cor 10:21)

I do know it was benadamm who (like quite a few) who refer to him as a pagan King and that you are not saying that, I was curious as to where that idea might have come from and that since you refute the idea that maybe you might know something concerning it.

Pagans don't praise God nor do they promote the faith. 1 Thess 4:5-8, 1 Cor 15:33-34
Unless of course they recover Acts 5:31 God leads them to a knowledge of the truth. 2 Tim 2:25-26
A pagan religion is the spiritual beliefs and practices developed by indigenous peoples

There weren't any other kind at that time. Abraham wasn't even circumcised yet.

" Most ...High God. The implication is
' not a less high god'
The title was adopted by the Jews later
Don't get too hung up on bias attached to words.
Pagan beliefs contained a measure of truth .

Pagans don't praise God nor do they promote the faith. 1 Thess 4:5-8, 1 Cor 15:33-3
When one considers that indigenous religion sacrificed to the powers of nature that's true
It's not true of the indigenous religion of Melchizedek

“Yet I have set My King On My holy hill of Zion.”
“I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me,
‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.' Psalm 2:6-7

You have become my salvation. The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone. Psalm 118:21-23

See, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation, A tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; Isaiah 28:16
A pagan religion is the spiritual beliefs and practices developed by indigenous peoples
Nor will I accept an offering from your hands. For from the rising of the sun, even to its going down, My name shall be great among the Gentiles. Mal 1:10-11

You will bring them in and plant them In the mountain of Your inheritance,
In the place, O Lord, which You have made For Your own dwelling,
The sanctuary, O Lord, which Your hands have established.
“The Lord shall reign forever and ever.” Ex 15:17-18
