Random thing happened last night:

It was around 10:30pm, and I got this horrible cramp all through my lower abdomen.
It proceeded to spike every 10 or so minutes for approx an hour and a half; I was able to fall asleep afterwards, but everytime I moved or switched positions my abdomen would hurt.

It's better now, has been since I woke this morning - and I don't think it's braxton hicks, it wasn't just a "clenching" it was an "Ouch!!"

Anyone else had this?? Or know what it is? Lol!

I'm sure it's definitely NOT it, but I had that postpartum last time, and it was a uterine infection.... but combined with at least 8 other symptoms.

Could have been contractions - but you kept an eye on timing and stuff and they stopped, so all is well. :)

Cervix is still high and closed, which is a bummer, but I also know it doesn't mean much now before labor has actually started. Have an NST scheduled for tomorrow, and another growth ultrasound scheduled for 39+1. I asked my doctor how far overdue he lets his patients go, and he told me that after my due date it's up to me, unless there is something that indicates that we need to induce (low fluid, placenta function etc..) So, if I have not had her by my due date of the 24th, we will probably discuss induction on the 25th. My choice. In the meantime, continuing the tea and EPO, going to up the dose on the EPO too. :)

It could well have been BH contractions. The best way to know is to switch what you're doing when they start happening. So, if you were lying down, getting up and walking - or if you're standing, lie down...then, if they stop, it was most likely BH contractions. They often will stop on their own after a time - like what you experienced...but changing positions can help them stop faster.

If you aren't sure, you can always call your provider's office and ask the nurse. :)

Pitocin is a nightmare - if you can avoid induction, I highly recommend it. I have been induced with Pitocin twice - the second time without an epidural and only one dose of pain meds. Not fun. lol

What's EPO?

Evening Primrose Oil. It's supposed to help soften your cervix. From what I've read it's safe to start around 34 weeks. I've been inserting one gel capsule each night before bed, and I will start taking one or two orally per day as well.

I'm right there with ya - although much further behind you pregnancy-wise! I'm excited about this new little one, but keep thinking of how much more chaotic my life is going to be at the same time. I feel all :sohappy: and :swoon: at once. ^_^

I am almost 26 weeks, one more week until the third trimester. I am ready but not ready, if that makes sense. I really want to meet this little boy, but I am not ready to have 4 kids, LOL. I sound messed up.

Hey, I'm only four weeks away, and while this is my first - that didn't stop me from having a breakdown in the car after buying the first tiny diapers and wipes.
It's not that you're not excited, it's just overwhelming. To go from zero to one is huge for me, and to go from three to four sounds just as challenging!

At least you have more expierence now! ;)

Peace,
- Niffer

You still have 11 days!! I could happen. :D
Eat eggplant, um, have sex...keep drinking tea...what else? Uh...go for a good walk, put together the crib..all at the SAME TIME..from what I've heard that HAS to induce labour!!! :D :D

Praying for you!

Peace,

LOL! Now we're actually hoping she stays put until at least the 22nd! DH just got a new job, and has a week and a half of training with the man he's replacing before he's on his own, which put him right to the due date, so we'd like her to hang on! Funny how things change.

But, I'm not really stopping anything either. Still drinking the tea, doing the EPO, plan on going for some walks once it cools down a bit etc.. :p

That means nothing!!! I was still high and closed at 38 weeks, and I was pretty bummed . . . but I went into labor at 39 weeks exactly. When I went to the doctor to see if there was any progress, I was 80%, 3-4 cm, and the baby was at -1 station!

Shoot... I'm still in denial!

I haven't booked a midwife yet. I haven't done any preparation, and I believe i'm 30ish weeks.

My little guy is only almost 11 months... SO not ready to have 2 kids right now. Too close together. :(

Accupressure points, rebozo...

and if all else fails, castor oil. I was a few days away from actually convincing myself to do that when I was 15 days overdue. :D

I am finally starting to get my nursery in order.
Remi and I spent all yesterday organizing and moving stuff around.
He's putting together the crib on saturday, and I'm currently washing through all my 0-3 month clothing that was given me.

I have been seriously blessed. Literally bags upon bags of beautiful girl clothing, just given to me - as well as a bassinet, a change table, wardrobe, baby swing, tub, cradle and crib.
I have yet to buy one piece of furniture yet. :swoon:

Most of it is from one lady, whom I've thanked again and again and wrote a thank you note, but she still keeps giving me more!
I really need to figure out how to bless her back - she's helped us so much.

RE: the bold - Pay it forward! I had a beautiful crib given to me, as well as a changing table and a ton of clothes. They all came from separate sources. Before I found out I was pregnant again, I had started giving away DD's clothes. A neighbor of ours was pregnant with a girl and they had a boy the first time, so they didn't have any girl stuff - and they couldn't afford to go buy a bunch of stuff. I took her bags and bags of clothes. It felt good to be able to bless someone the same way I had been blessed. :)
