i feel the same, i have been given literally tons of stuff, both boys and girls and neutral things. (we didn't tell people what sex the baby is) these are things people had and didn't end up needing. i know there is no way we are going to need the amount of things we have as from what i hear babies grow very fast, and I do know of a couple of people pregnant due after me so it is a good idea if i can pass some of the things on!

Hey, I'm only four weeks away, and while this is my first - that didn't stop me from having a breakdown in the car after buying the first tiny diapers and wipes.
It's not that you're not excited, it's just overwhelming.

Oh my goodness, I had an all out panic attack this morning thinking about being a new mommy. I barely got any sleep last night between heartburn, infrequent contractions and just being huge, and I had a meltdown this morning thinking, "How am I going to do this with a newborn? I can barely function for myself, not to mention providing for her on this little sleep!" I think I know what my prayer focus might be for the week. :prayer:

aw hon! im not as far on as you are but i didn't sleep well for 3 nights there and could hardly function and severe constipation and i had the feeling too - if i cannot function now, how will i deal with a baby?? i couldn't even interact or get anything done i was so tired i stayed in bed most of the day! but i believe God will give us exactly what we need when the baby comes. .. im hanging onto that scripture 'my grace is sufficient for you, my power works best in weakness'.
something that also encourages me is a story i once heard told by a famous missionary. she said you don't need the train ticket until you get on the train - then it works for what its needed for, and you have it just at the right time. there is no point having a train ticket for a journey months before it happens. well it is the same with God...he will give us the strength we need WHEN we need it! he will give us just the ticket we need at the right time for whatever situation we find ourselves in. so although we feel like we can't do a thing now and so weak, we must believe that God will come through, even at the last minute! sorry for going on a bit. just though this might be helpful as its helped me :)
xx

Hi all I can join you now so I dropped by to say hello. For those who are worried about coping with a newborn, it is tiring but I found that when I breastfed it gave me and my little girrl a real sense of peace and we both sleept really deeply xx

I HATE CLEANING!!!!! It sucks. Just had to get that off my chest.

Me too! Funny, I clean the house during the week and then the weekend comes and it all falls to the wayside. Monday morning, this house looks like a tornado hit it! I blame it on DH... ^_^

Aunt Kelly, having a newborn isn't easy but you get used it. Remember they start out only eating, sleeping and crying when they need something. It's when you add more that it makes it difficult. I will pray for all the first time moms though.

I am very ready to have this baby.
Poor Remi isn't getting any sleep, mostly because I'm not, so I wake him with all my tossing and turning.
I just feel sooo heavy and I waddle everywhere, and she's still super active, and beats me up from the inside!

If I could go into labour anywhere between Aug 1-6th <-- my due date I'd be one happy camper!

I'm right there with ya Niffer! I'm hoping that I've made some sort of progress when I go for my appointment this afternoon. I'm debating back and forth about asking to be induced when I hit 40 weeks!

Okay, so here's the thing:
I'm a little miffed.
I have a dr. appt on Thurs.
My OB is on vaca until the end of July - but there's someone filling in for her.
Okay, no problem, right?
I'm talking to the secretary who is telling me I'll love dr. whats-her-face and I say: "Oh, so is she another local OB?"
Then the secretary looks at me and says "No, she's a GP."

What?? I'm right near the end of my pregnancy, I want to know which way the baby's head is, and if I've progressed any, and I have a random GP poking around my down there bits, and I already feel she's not qualified to do this.
My OB said nothing about her replacement being a GP - but it really ticked me off.
What should I do??

Call back and ask the secretary how much OB experience the GP has. Some family doctors do it all - internal medicine, gynecology, etc. Maybe that is the case here.

Is your doctor on vacation right now, or starting later this week? If not right now, I'd try to get in earlier than Thursday to be seen. That does strike me as odd that the OB is being covered by a GP. Can you request to be seen by another doctor, possibly one at the hospital or another practice?

Well, I emailed my OB with all my questions/concerns and the secretary emailed me back promptly assuring me this GP is very well versed in OB practices and my OB doctor trusts her completely. So that did help a little, she did say she could refer me to the other OB in town - but he's male, and I've heard not the best things about him.

I failed the 1 hour glucose test :(

Oh I'm so sorry. :( That really stinks. I hope your 3 hour one has better results. Praying for you!

I hope you pass that Pegasus *hugs*

I'm glad everyone is doing well and getting through your pregnancies! :) Jesiah and I are doing ok... He's had a blood transfusion today, and was put on antibiotics yest, and I've ended up with a breast infection (GRR!!) but we are coping ok ish...

Oh my, that seems like a lot to be going through! I'm glad to hear you're staying positive.
Praying! :prayer:

Peace,
- Niff

Have you popped yet, Kelly??? :D

No :( I only had a few contractions yesterday too. Made me want to go back for another membrane sweep. Hopefully he'll do another one at my appointment tomorrow (even though it hurt like crazy!).

Trying to wait, patiently. :p
