My mother's friend Patricia, is sick with lung cancer, and was put in ICU today with pneumonia. It doesn't look like she will survive this, but prayers for her, and my mother's (Elizabeth), comfort would be appreciated. They have been friends for at least thirty years, and it's hitting Mom really hard.

Lord have mercy on your handmaidens Patricia and Elizabeth. Theotokos look over these two as they go through this time of trial and bring them comfort, asking your Son to have mercy upon them.

Patricia passed away quietly yesterday. May her memory be eternal!

My mom (Elizabeth) is handling it pretty well. She already had a trip with other good friends planned for New Years and is away. I suspect this will hit her much harder after she comes home and things settle down. Lord have mercy!

My aunt passed away after over a year long battle with this dreadful disease a few years ago.. it is truly a hard place for both the victim and his/her family..
