  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Three years ago, I felt that ever still tug, that small voice, that call into ministry. At the time, I said no way, it can't be from the Lord. I was 41, had a successful one man business that after years of struggling, was finally doing well. I was horrible as a speaker. (I taught a few classes in my post college days). I was very talented with my hands so of course I said to myself that couldn't be from the Lord, I'm not equipped. My hands are my blessing. So I continued on my marry way in what "I" had labored for, built up and enjoyed doing. Still had that tugging, still ignored it. So February of 2002, the Lord pulled the rug out from under me. I had a siezure while driving a commercial truck from one of my major contracts, totaling the truck and the car I hit. Praise God no one was injured. My siezures, which up to this point were controlled, (hadn't had one in 2 years and were minor till this point anyways) were now back with a fury. Long and short, I haven't driven in 2 years, I can no longer scale high buildings as I once did, and no commercial insurance company will insure me again. And the Lord is still tugging, except now there is no excuse. Now there is nothing in the way. I continue to do some odd side jobs here and there, sub contracting. My wife is an RN and was able to pick up full time to compensate. The siezures are about 90% controlled now, however, with all the medication needed, my senses are somewhat dulled. So I am going in a little bit slower at first. I will be taking classes online through "The Berean". Geared towards Assembly of God lisencing. I could really use your prayers and by all means, any advise you might have. Thank you all.
God Bless....In HIS Service....Dan

By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by night. Exodus 13:21

The way God works is that God does not always take us by the shortest and most direct route.

The second thing that we learn about the way God works is that God does provide guidance for our journey.

From his initial encounter with God in which the Lord assured Moses "I will certainly be with you," through his rise to leadership, to his successful delivery through the Red Sea, God directed Moses every step of the way. God called. God equipped. God led. Life had meaning only with God.

The third thing we learn about the way God works is that faith is the key to living in God's presence. From the great "faith chapter" in the Book of Hebrews, this crucial ingredient for Christian living is elaborated. Faith is described as "being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see."

Scripture teaches that we do not choose God; rather God chooses us. Faith is the mystery of how God deals with us. The Book of Hebrews tells us that faith recognized as a divine gift rather than a human achievement rests confidently in God rather than anxiously upon the self.

How do we perpetuate God tugging on our hearts? One has to set priorities, eliminate distractions, and decide to think about God--a lot. Living in God's presence must become a habit, a regular and disciplined way of life.

It all starts with trusting God to lead us along the path that keeps us close, and discovering the pillar of cloud and fire that keeps us on course. It is a matter of unwrapping the gift of faith, trying it on for size, and wearing it everywhere we go. God is always near and is with us wherever we are and in whatever we do. Our challenge is to become spiritually attuned and discerning so that we might find God in everything. We will find ourselves able to do incredible things with God at our side.

***************

Lord, I lift up this prayer request in prayer and ask with a loving heart to make clear the life plans You have for Dan. Direct Dan in all areas of his life. Open doors that need to be opened. I also ask that You lay Your healing hands upon these seizures. I ask for a complete restoration of health that he will be able to do Your will. Lord, I thank You for answered prayers in the name of Jesus "Amen"..

Dan, you have a marvelous testimony and strong faith. And I know that you know that whom God calls He enables. What wonderful adventures you have ahead of you! I am almost envious (no, not really, sir, I am happy for you!). I have known many men that have answered God's voice in mid-life and have said, "Here I am, Lord." May your ministry be blessed with God's abundant power.
