The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yes indeed Jesus brings real rest and also spiritual and physical healing. I've been a regular visitor here at CF for many years, when I first joined I was deeply depressed, and had been for years, often struggling with doubt and unbelief in those days, it seemed so cruel that God had left me like that and had me suffer such anguish without giving me the opportunity to kill myself, in those dys I had a hot desire to die.
However after a few years on CF, meeting many Christians, and non Christian, and even some very dubious people calling themselves Christian but the name Christian was only to deceive and cause division and pain, as such people are servants of satan, I began to see a clear pattern. Those with faith in God's love, even though they were often very ill, fared much better in the long run than those who didn't have faith in a loving God.
This was an enormous boost of the evidence that God is a loving God and not just someone who cast terrible afflictions on his own creatures as the god of this world seems to be doing.
I also saw that those people who were judgmental and loveless were the first ones to talk about, play with, and in the end really committed suicide, as well as those poor souls who had succumbed to hopelessness, despair, fear and misery and suffered from a very low elf-esteem or had suffered trauma of some kind. Two extremely different kind of people who were both willing victims of suicide.
Especially victims of trauma my heart goes out to, being a survivor myself. A loving God can be so far away from survivors of abuse understanding or comprehension, all because wicked people's deeds, religious and worldly lies and satanic infiltration of their inner being hindering the truth of God's love to enter them.
This is the reason I have hang around CF for so long, to support and to receive support from brothers of sisters in Christ who do not judge but understand the plight of those with mental illness. I've met some excellent brothers and sisters over the years, and also many nice non Christian people. It has really opened my eyes to see that all humanity can heed good as well as bad and listen to truth or lies and be loving or unloving. It is good to see that God is not hindered by human sin but harvests the human soul with the truth of His Word throughout all ages. What a Saviour our Lord truly is - 1 Timothy 4:9-10 and 1 John 2:2 testify of what our Lord Jesus has done for us all.

thankyou for the informative letter Gerry,i can sense that you are a good person because as you say there are so many Christians pretending to be but really aren't.your support has meant so much I am seeking fellowship,someone to talk to about jesus someone to relate with someone to experience the journey with,or people.the only church in my town is not a church I would attend, for a number of reasons.even the times I have fallen away from god he has relentlessly pursued me he will not let this rest,so I dropped to my knees and said ok lord,im yours to do your work.all religion aside even the unbeleivers must surely know deep down that the complexities of earth and all its amazing things it does,point directly to an intelligent designer.i call it blindness if anything perhaps ignorance, all concocted by satan.god bless

We have a lot of people who have experienced what you have. This is why we try to keep this forum free from judgmental people, sometimes one or two slip through, but usually they don't stay around very long. Oersonally I haven't been able to go to Church for many years because I get triggered by religious stuff really badly.
I find it very hard to keep my mouth shut in Church challenging their conclusions preached as God's word which are not true at all. I also battle with the demons who have her in her grasp for ages afterwards and am tormented by them. The Church leaders know this is how it is but understand me to be mentally ill so don't take me seriously. Not even when I prove to them from God's word that Church practices are often not biblical, they ignore what I say and continue on their path.
I have already years ago send them official letters challenging a lot of things going on, and prophesying that God would destroy the Church as it is now, but they have never even bothered to reply.
Some have been scheming to excommunicate me - a practice from the dark ages which is completely at odds with the truth of God's love - but so far Jesus has kept me safe from then through the truths of the bible behind which I have taken shelter for they have not been able to negate God's truth nor or get around it.
I'm still scheming what to do now that I'm getting better. There are a lot of people there who have a genuine faith in Jesus Christ and the bible is seen as the ultimate answer for all conflict or frictions. I like that very much because I'm a bible lover, I adore the word of God, it has been the truth of the bible I found my strength in. The living word is what we need, not religion captivating us with tradition, values and morals that have nothing to do with loving God and neighbour as Jesus teaches. We need to be set free - just as the truth says He would do when we meet Him.
Hang around brother, I'm sure you will make many friends, we have some really good people around here, but be warned outside of the mental health forum on CF there are some wolf in sheep clothing who love tearing you to bit and spitting you out like dirt. If you are sensitive to insulting people then it might be wise to stay away from other forums. However if you feel you are strong in your faith, and open to hearing other people's opinions, then by all means be a light and a salted salt, our Lord knows how badly we need more of them here at CF. Though we have a few real warriors for Christ's cause as well, you are most welcome to be one of those.

what an amazing letter Gerry.it sounds like you have had many struggles of your own and thank god you seem to be on the downhill slope.yes wolves,how interesting you would find judgemental characters here."you shouldn't have mental illness if jesus is in your life"etcetc.its the devil,youre overrun by the devil etc etc.all I have to sayto those people is read the bible live like jesus and it will all fall in place.little do they know im 80 percent cured,there was no hope.praise god because very strong medical drugs changed nothing and the mere mention of the word jesus uplifts me.my faith tells me I will be healthy through him,apart from a few drawbacks he always propels me further forward.were they seeking to ex communicate you for having mental health issues.because these churches need to look at themselves.about speaking on the main forums I would be happy to defend myself and I can only assume theyd be up for one hectic discussion.peace Gerry. Yep, that happens. Mental illness isn't a matter of faith, nor is it a mood or an attitude. Do these people not get ill? Or are they so perfect in their faith, that they can drink poison - like it says it the Gospel according to Mark? Can they heal the sick? Nope, they get ill just like anyone else, and they can't drink poison without consequences, and they can't perform miracles. Just like the rest of us. Jesus never said we wouldn't be sick. In fact, he told us to go see one another when we are sick, to take care of each other.
It's easy to see "devils" in other people, if we focus on that. It saddens me when it's done in the name of our savior. We are so ready to judge one another, and that is exactly what we shouldn't do. In fact, just by typing this, I'm judging those judgers too, so I can't claim to have any high ground here either!
I hope you don't get demoralized about people saying those things, they don't know what they are talking about. God bless.

Dear brother I don't know what you were doing in your heart when you wrote this but what you said here is not judgmental but truthful about those who are judgmental. All we can do is be saddened by judgmental attitudes and don't buy into their judgments, which is exactly what you did when you wrote what you wrote.
It is true though we shouldn't think ourselves better because when we do that then we exult ourselves and shall be made low, just like those who judged down here will be judged and all those who were wicked or untrue will be wiped out of human hearts - this is how the truth of God wipes the slate clean of all of the deeds of our life until only His chosen - when we are raised from the dead - are left over - which is true and pure humanity. Hallelujah!
The best part is we have all been invited to be washed in the blood of Christ so that we can participate in this epic event - time and again - until the last one in us has entered the kingdom and our whole inner world of being has become godly, only then will satan and his work in us have been destroyed, and Zion will come down from Heaven to rule us into eternity.
It is best to pray that Jesus will soften the hard hearts of judgmental people and pray for their salvation knowing that judgementalness living within such people wont see a need to do that.
This truth remains if we want to be saved a sinner then we also want other sinners to be saved for as such speaks the law of love.

I fully agree with you, Creation tells the story of our creator God in finest detail, but not only that, we have His word to prove it to us as well. His Word is even more explicit in telling us the truth of God's existence and His love for His lost children.
However many people see darkness when it comes to God and they believe the darkness showing nothing rather than the light telling them everything. Lost humanity is the sad reality down here, however God is faithful and that is all that matters in the end.

Ah what does it matter brother? You know and do believe that God's word is an awesome testimony so what can satan make you feel guilty about?
Interestingly the devil tried to make you feel guilty, that is how he often takes control of our thoughts and feelings, charging us with wrong even if we haven't even done anything wrong, but if we believe him then we are in trouble!!! However on seasoned believer such attacks have little bad effect because Jesus covers us 100 percent, the moment the devil begins to accuse us of sin we run for cover to the cross, that serves the devil right for trying to steal even our thoughts and feelings for himself, and create a guilty conscience within us, the murderous thief!
