  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Sorry to ask again, but I'm going to anyway...:D;)

Please anyone who feels led please pray for me for healing of my back. I had gotten better, but I'm bad with it again this week, very bad. My husband had to help me get dressed this morning. I was just barely walking.

Went to chiropractor before coming to work. I'm moving a leeetle bit better, I think. I reallly shouldn't be at work, but you know how it is...
:sigh:

Last week I saw an orthopedist about it. They think it is due just to degenerative changes at L2 area of the spine. (In other words, I'm old!:D)

I took it as an 'omen'

Oh kaykay please do not feel bad asking us to pray it is my privilege and according to God's word is good for me to do. It helps me fulfill the law of Christ which I believe is LOVE>

Gal 6:2 Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

We must lead those whom 'grieve'
to pray and give thanks to the Lord in our adversity
as well as to praise Him for blessings
for it is His will that is done here on earth
just as it is in heaven [not our will, but thine Lord]
Just as He loves us, so we love those that leave this life
and we love them before ourselves
which is why we mourn them [isn't it ?]

They have, left behind all worldly things, and are of the spirit
They have no pain, no worries, only Light and Love and our Lord
The Lord will care for them now...
and we, whom still have worldly things about us
must follow in the footsteps of, our Lord
more-nearly every blessed day we are given
amen

I would like you to prayfor my mother in laws friend. She had a CT scan as a routine followup (she had beat breast cancer several years ago). The doctors have seen a mass and suspect ovarian cancer. She is pretty upset and not a believer to my knowledge. Thanks Jan

May Jan's Mother in Law, find peace
and defer to God's will in this matter

Psalm 23

The Lord's Prayer

The Lord's will be done here
Let us give praise for His, amazing grace
His, inimitable omnipotence
His, everlasting forgiveness
and His, unending mercy

Jesus said, "suffer the children to come unto me"
and when called, His children, respond with "Hallelujah, hosannah in the highest"

Isaiah 40:31
But they that wait upon the LORD
shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as EAGLES
they shall run, and not be weary

amen

Gaaa, don't you just love hearing that? Praying for you just the same . .

Upset is understandable . . praying for her future, and that it includes an intimate and life-altering encounter with our Lord . .

Please be in prayer for my a co-worker and her husband. Let me try to make this story short. There was a butane spill on a nearby highway and lots of workers cleaning it up. It was dark and my co-workers husband didn't see the man and hit him with his car last night. The man died and charges have been filed against my co-workers' husband. They are a young couple in their mid-twenties, a precious, sweet couple. They are devout Christians. I have no idea why they filed charges against him over an accident, but I guess we'll find out.

Please be in prayer for this young couple and of course, the man who died had family, I'm sure. Please pray for them too. This whole thing is tragic all the way around.:groupray:

In such events
the authorities usually setup HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS and easy to see SIGNS

Of course, the law [here] says:
that you should ALWAYS be in control of your vehicle
and to do so, you should travel at a speed not exceeding the maximum speed
for that road and adjust your speed, for road conditions > visibility / weather

Accidents are, accidents > unavoidable
but driving, WITHOUT DUE CARE AND ATTENTION
is an offence and inexcusable [here]

Your STORY implies that workers were cleaning up in the dark

I am having trouble, imagining, just HOW butane GAS can be cleaned-up
as liquid butane will simply become gaseous /'evaporate' away

Your co-workers husband, has caused the death of someone [with his car]
and the charges, will stem from this being an offence
whatever the causes and / or mitigation... a court must hear and settle this

I don't know the details of any of it, Dave. I'm sure we'll learn more soon.

That is so tragic I am praying for all ivolved.
I am also praying for Taiwan and my homestay student as there was a bad Typhoon over the weekend . My student has returned home but I am not exactly sure to which city. In her last email to me she did say a typhoon was coming. I emailed her again and am waiting for a reply. Jan
