Anyone that feels so led might want to pray about the approaching Tropical Storm Gustav. I know here in Texas & some other southern states are making preparation for evacuees in case it hits hard. And I'm praying it won't.

By the way, thank all of you who prayed for me with my back problems. I'm about 95% recovered! I appreciate the prayers.

Yes, everybody please keep praying for those folks. We are beginning to get many of the evacuees from New Orleans now. For many of them, it's been a rough trip too.

Yes, that is what I am hearing too. There apparently may be some substantial damage, but hopefully, much less than it could have been.

Thank you to everyone who has prayed for me. I set aside half-a-day last week to specifically seek God about the person I needed to contact. I felt that this was a spiritual issue. (Ephesians 6 v 12 came to mind.) It was good to know that you were agreeing in prayer with me. Thank you!

Later I managed to get through to her department on a landline (I had been given her cell phone contact number), only to find that she no longer works for the organisation! Anyway, I have arranged a meeting with her successor next week, to get the information I need. So PRAISE GOD and thank you for your prayers and support. This is a lovely site and thread!

It was not as bad as they thought it would be. Thanks to God. I know it was still serious but it could have been much worse.

Oh dave didn't know you had hooked up there. LIke I said it never worked out much for me as I just could not keep track of things very well and every foray seemed in to uncharted waters. I had not negative experiences at all I too just have only so much time to devote to on line pursuits so feel time is best served where I started out. Namely right here. I am not sure though why you posted this as a prayer request. Care to elaborate? Jan

Yep with 'unread posts' soaring through 8,500 there was no-way I could catch up
My Daily Cheer Thread ....that i had mostly copied over to CFF
was quarantined
within the Men's Ministry as TOO ADULT for the general site

Also those threads I did visit
would advance several pages between visits
and I felt ais: like a raindrop in an ocean .... L O S T..... ?!?!?$*?

I am also SO HAPPY here ....
Besides, I can still look in there, as and when I feel led to do so

Dave, there IS something to be said for not stretching yourself so thinly that it isn't really much fun anymore . . It's so wonderful that you feel so much at "home" here.

Praying for each of you . . . and maybe I'm worrying too much for nothing (hopefully) but praying for the next storms out in the Atlantic that are aimed towards the west.

May I ask for prayer for this tender, aching heart of mine, and for the families involved? I've lost two dear elderly residents of the place where I work, and a third one is battling a very serious infection. Two of them were deeply devoted believers, and their loss will be particularly hard even though I know without hesitation that they are immeasurably better off where they have gone . . . Beyond the ravages and indignations of their infirmities.

The second one who died did so in her apartment, and a neighbor found her before her husband got back home. So the whole building was involved to some degree, and it felt all the more personal for them. It did give us opportunities to share our faith with those who came seeking comfort. I'm blessed to work with some wonderful Believers.
