  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Thank You so much for your prayers.

My sister Annette has passed on in peace.

I Thank you for your loving kindness and prayer support. I do however have aother family member who is suffering through this loss and causing stress for other family members. I do request your prayers for this. Please lift up Charlotte to receive the comfort of the Holy Spirit and the grace for all of us to love until His grace is accepted in her soul.

SavedsisSpringrain so sorry to hear of your sister and your loss..I will pray for your sister Charlotte and your family...I see the load you are carrying..I can sense how difficult it is for you to keep going beneath its weight..Depend on Christ's strength instead of your own..He who carried the cross can also carry this heavy burden of yours..Do not despair...I am lifting you and your family up in prayer..

gratefulgraceSo sorry to hear about the deepening stress Spring I will be praying for you. Jan

Lord, forgive us our, misunderstanding of, your will

Often, we, find it difficult to understand just 'why'
our hearts are so-saddened
just why, we grieve so-much upon the passing
of, someone whom, was a part of our life, here on earth

Often, we, are frustrated
when, our heartfelt-beliefs and, our ministry
is unable to support non-believers
no-matter what we say or do

Here, we must listen to your 'word'
that, 'brother, will be set against brother'
and, 'sister, will be set against sister'

Believe, that you will present-us, with 'no-impossible' task
thus, we must accept/ follow/ obey 'your will' in-FAITH
Lord, we surrender to your teachings
NOT our-will, but your's
We pray that you will strengthen these 'human' hearts and feelings
and, that you will be merciful to sinners whom we love
This, we pray
because of, the blood shed by your Son, our Saviour
on our behalf
amen

'for, everything a reason and, a reason for, everything'

18:20 In my name. As followers of Christ.
Wesley's Notes
18:20 Where two or three are gathered together in my name - That is, to worship me.
I am in the midst of them - By my Spirit, to quicken their prayers, guide their counsels, and answer their petitions.

Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Bible Commentary
20. For where two or three are gathered together
in my name-or "unto my name."
there am I in the midst of them-

On this passage-so full of sublime encouragement to Christian union in action and prayer
observe, first, the connection in which it stands.
Our Lord had been speaking of church meetings before which the obstinate perversity of a brother
was in the last resort to be brought, and whose decision was to be final
such honor does the Lord of the Church put upon its lawful assemblies.
But not these assemblies only
does He deign to countenance and honor.
For even two uniting to bring any matter before Him shall find that they are not alone,
for My Father is with them, says Jesus.
Next, observe the premium here put upon union in prayer.
As this cannot exist with fewer than two, so by letting it down so low as that number,
He gives the utmost conceivable encouragement to union in this exercise.
But what kind of union? Not an agreement merely to pray in concert,
but to pray for some definite thing. "As touching anything which they shall ask," says our Lord
anything they shall agree to ask in concert.
At the same time, it is plain He had certain things at that moment in His eye,
as most fitting and needful subjects for such concerted prayer.
The Twelve had been "falling out by the way" about the miserable question of precedence
in their Master's kingdom,
and this, as it stirred their corruptions, had given rise
or at least was in danger of giving rise-to "offenses" perilous to their souls.
The Lord Himself had been directing them how to deal with one another about such matters.
"But now shows He unto them a more excellent way."
Let them bring all such matters-yea, and everything whatsoever by which either
their own loving relationship to each other, or the good of His kingdom at large,
might be affected-to their Father in heaven; and if they be but agreed in petitioning Him
about that thing, it shall be done for them of His Father which is in heaven.
But further, it is not merely union in prayer for the same thing-for that might be with very jarring ideas
of the thing to be desired-but it is to symphonious prayer,
the prayer by kindred spirits, members of one family, servants of one Lord,
constrained by the same love, fighting under one banner,
cheered by assurances of the same victory; a living and loving union,
whose voice in the divine ear is as the sound of many waters.
Accordingly, what they ask "on earth" is done for them, says Jesus,
"of My Father which is in heaven."
Not for nothing does He say, "of My Father"
not "YOUR Father"; as is evident from what follows:
"For where two or three are gathered together unto My name"-the "My" is emphatic,
"there am I in the midst of them." As His name would prove a spell to draw together many clusters
of His dear disciples, so if there should be but two or three, that will attract Himself down
into the midst of them;
and related as He is to both the parties, the petitioners and the Petitioned-to the one on earth
by the tie of His assumed flesh, and to the other in heaven
by the tie of His eternal Spirit-their symphonious prayers on earth would thrill upward through Him to heaven,
be carried by Him into the holiest of all, and so reach the Throne.
Thus will He be the living Conductor of the prayer upward, and the answer downward.
----------------------------------------------

Not for-nothing,
do I address-you as Sister dear Springrain
But, to His purpose,
we take His 'word' for, 'our-truth'
to our Lord, we 'righteously, give all of the Praise and ALL of, the Glory for His name's sake
amen

Lord, we jointly pray for Sean and his family
we pray for his healing
and support for his family and friends
Lord, we call upon your forgiveness for, this non-believer
whom is loved, despite this unbelief
We pray for your healing hands to reach out
and touch him, Lord
We pray that you will uphold and
strengthen his-family during these dark days
We pray this for, Jesus' names sake
Lord, we ask for you to show mercy
upon this young man
We believe that you can do this for, us, thy children
and we ask,
in the name of, the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost
amen

Here is an update on my friends son. There is no new bleeding in the brain. A small area on the spine is being watched but doctors don't think it will cause any trouble. He is in a coma (maybe partly medically induced) I guess we keep praying and wait for Sean to show signs of responsivseness. And again thank you for your prayers on the families behalf. jan

Good progress for Sean

His mom emailed me with this:

Thank you so much for your support throughout this nightmare. I will be coming home now each day to sleep and take care of Maggie.
Sean is doing much better...he is off the machine and breathing on his own. They have taken off the cervical collar and cleared him for any serious spinal injuries. He is occasionally waking up now and seems to understand what has happened to him. He is responding to commands and following basic instructions by nodding. He is unable to really speak yet but last night he did mouth my name.
If he continues doing well they will move him out of ICU to the neuro ward maybe as soon as tomorrow.
Please tell "my soccer family" to feel free to send me email and not to feel as though they are intruding. They are all a very important part of my life and I know they are worried.

Again, thank you and I will keep in touch daily either by phone or email.
Chris

THANKYOU to all you wonderful intercessors. Jan
