CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Please pray for our church. There are some unexpected divisions that have suddenly cropped up and could affect a very important ministry. I am not sure why it is happening but some of the youth leaders want to break from the church and start their own work. The problem is I feel it will afftect the children already involved many from un churched homes. Is it GOD???? I don't think so and I feel they are moving out from under God's spiritual protection as well as legal liability protection, but these are young committed christians who feel they are doing the right thing. WISDOM is needed. BTW we are already a very small fellowship so any thing like this has a major impact on church moral. Jan

Hi Jan, this situation at the church sounds like a good oportunity for teach on"Discernment" and "Seeking God's Will". I offer up a prayer as you request....that God sends guidance to everyone. Perhaps God is putting it on your heart to speak???? Do not be afraid...the burden is that of The Holy Spirit to do the hard work. I pray that minds and hearts will be fertile ground for Him. We back you up with lots of prayer.

It just occurs to me tonight that there are many, many needs represented on this forum. Lord, I just pray that you will meet them all. Please give us all the gift of faith to believe you to be the answer to all our needs. Lord, please give wisdom to those seeking it, healing to those who need it, be it emotionally or physically, finances and jobs to those who need them, help and hope for those with troubled marriages, strength to those who feel weak, and finally peace and discernment to those who need it tonight. Any needs spoken or unspoken I just pray that they would be met.

Trying to do the right thing.
Although I rarely post in the prayer thread, I do frequent it and I do pray with all my might for those who need it, and some for those who don't think they do.
A few months ago, I asked for prayers for my daughter's friend, Candice, whose body was riddled with agressive cancers of all kinds. Candice has since married and is going to have a baby in about four months. The cancer went into complete and total remission when she became pregnant, but is now back with a vengence. The doctors are going to take the baby in a month, if they can wait that long, so I am back asking for more prayers.
All tragedies are heart breaking, but what hurts more than anything is to see my daughter and her friend trying to make sense of what is going on. They need help. And God is the only One who can give it to them.
So I'm asking for prayers now.
I do thank you. And I honestly think the prayers offered up here those few months back made a difference. Hopefully, they will again.

Springrain asks for prayers from ya'all. In the next weeks or months I have important matters to attend to for my husband and his mother (94). She is slipping badly and in need of personal care. She is asking for me to come...now. This means traveling and most likely staying there at her home for a while. I have been praying for God's will, protection and grace.
