Many thanks to those who posted replies to my message about my mishap and for your prayers. It was quite a clean break apparently, but the bone was also pulled out of the joint so they had to manipulate it back into position before putting it in a cast. Because they were able to do that surgery was avoided, but before I could be discharged, I had to see the occupational therapist - not sure what they are called where you live - about aids I would need at home and she wasn't there Friday, Saturday or Sunday. They also told me the physios would also have to be satisfied that I could hop up onto a platform using my walking frame which was supposed to be like me hopping on to the step at the front door at home. I couldn't do it to their satisfaction on my first attempt, but managed it by the Monday. I asked what would have happened if I still couldn't do it by then and they replied that I would just have to get someone to help me! We actually have a different system at home, but isn't that always the way?
I had my cast changed yesterday - still a heavy one, so still limited in mobility, but hope to get a light weight one next time.
Lovely baby pictures - mum and dad look good too!
