I am non-Christian but my mom is. I think. We never really talked about it and now she cant talk at all. She suffers from a progressive neurological disorder called PLS (Primary Lateral Sclerosis) she is in the hospital now because of a stage 4 bed sore (really bad to the bone ). Her name is Cynthia and we live in San Diego (the universe will know the rest )

I ask for YOu to meet each of their deepest needs and to pour out Your grace onto Cynthia and surround her with Your tender mercies. Thank you everyone who are praying for my mom. I truely appreciate it. I will check back more often. It really does lift her spirits when I tell her about all the prayers.

Her name is Cynthia and her middle name is Ann she usually goes by Ann though.

My mom is doing pretty good. She got a new bed that can now be put in her room (she has been in the living room since Aug.)

I would like to request more prayers though, for my sister. I fear she is doing some bad things and I don't know what to do to help her. She isn't religious at all, she doesn't hang out with good people.

She has taken this whole thing with my mom the hardest I think. A lot of pressure is put on her because she is a female and there are certain things that I am not really comfortable doing. She doesn't seem to have the sensitivity of that sort of thing, she thinks she shouldnt only have to do things because she is the girl.

I have tried to keep her from doing certain things but she says that I cant tell her what to do. My dad works 7 days a week and doesn't "know" how to parent really, not that he is a bad parent, just he doesnt know how things are done because everything was taken care of by my mom up until 4 or so years ago. I help my dad with paying his bills and such, i go shopping for groceries, and other errands( things my mom would have done).

Without going into anything else please just pray for her as well. I would like to do some sort of intervention but i am afraid it will make her do things even more........

Wiccanheart, I will pray for your whole family.

One thing I thought about, if I was in your mom's position, as a believer I would love to have the bible read to me. Also have a pastor/priest/deacon from church come to visit me.

Can you offer to help your sister in whatever tasks need to be done? Things that you will still feel comfortable with, but also so that your sister feels less alone in doing these tasks?

Hey Lord, I just wanna offer up this difficult situation into your hands. WH doesn't know you lord, yet she still finds comfort in you at this moment. I pray that she may come to know you better as a result of her mothers pain, that would be so amazing Lord. Thank you for the response on this forum. Lord I pray that you will ease the pain that cynthia/ann is in Lord as we can't imagine how difficult it must be for her. Oh lord THANK YOU for healing her this much thank you for being with her and I pray that Ann and her family will draw close to you during this difficult period. Lord in the end it says that you will dry every last ter from your peoples eyes and I know you will end all pain sadness and suffering when you return again lord we cannot wait for that day but i pray that this family will be ready for you lord. continue touching them and healing WH's mother.

WH, Your dad is probably going through a lot too. Some men get very helpless when their wives have critical illness--not just over filling in household gaps, but emotionally. Especially when he can't influence your sister's actions. Everyone in the family gets flaky when life isn't what they thought it would be. We're all just kids, getting older and older.

Father, I lift up WH and his family. Thank you for his trust in answered prayer, thank you for his concern for his sister, his mother, and his father. We turn the situation over to you, because it's something we can't resolve on our own.

You have promised that you are a refuge in times of trouble; a refuge for the oppressed; a stronghold in times of trouble; and after grief, you will show compassion. Though we sit in darkness, you will be our light. By your wounds, we are healed.

Bring hope to their situation. Bind the family members together in concern for each other. We know that you never give up on us, Lord, and we trust you to work mightily to restore health and well-being to this family.
