  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

On April 25, 2003, I took a vow that I would remain pure until marriage. Ever since then however, the temptations have gotten worse. I know our thoughts are what we are but I shut the thoughts down the minute they come. Is it me? Do I want myself to fail? I love Jesus with all my heart but here I am failing him. I don't want to fail but I can't stop the temptations. Please pray for me. I need help...

Be strong, The temptations will be there constantly but don't give in to them. Pray and God will give you strength. I applaud you for your decision. I wish more young people would follow your example. Remember, the devil wants you to fail and not keep your vow and he will tempt you often. I will pray for your strength. God Bless

April 25, 2003? That's the day before I was baptized! :) What helped me was praying for strength whenever the temptation hits, and getting away from whatever is causing the temptation. You have your whole life ahead of you and just one little thing can cast a dark, dark shadow over the rest of it... trust me, I know. :( You'll be in my prayers, Cecilia!

Is there a source or object of temptation, such as a boyfriend?

If so, then you need to cool things off with him. It sounds like he should do the same with you if he is having self control issues.
Staying together is not going to help you do the right thing.

If anything, sex is procreation, it makes babies.
That makes it a responsibility that neither of you are able to bear.

I plead with you to avoid starting this fire because you cannot put it out and it will burn you up.
