  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Prayers!!

Seajoy, I hope all is well!

No, all is not well. This whole thing is the biggest roller coaster (as friend, Rad, named our our life right now) we have ever been on. It would take a lot of typing to even tell you what is happening.

The Lord is holding us up, and I thank Him for it. We should know within the next 2 weeks, if things will resolve themselves...with God's help, of course.

Thanks, everyone, for your prayers. And may God's glory be shown.

Prayers, please, for Tiger. He's been sick on and off for two or three weeks. We're waiting for test results, which we should have tomorrow morning, but the doctor thinks he has mononucleosis. He could end up in the hospital for a week or two. With his nearly non-existent immune system, it could get serious. Meanwhile, he's confined to home and he's getting cabin fever already. Also, Hubby is getting another salivary gland infection and the doctor said last time he might need surgery. Sighhhhhh...it's gonna be a looong winter.

I hope and pray these things will pass quickly and with no damage.

Thanks,

Update on Tiger. He had his regular doctor appointment on Monday. The doctor put him in the hospital where he was pumped full of antibodies (a donated blood product). Tuesday he was much better and he was allowed to go home. Hubby was ordered to eat pickles and suck on lemon drops to try to dissolve a calcium deposit. Our Thanksgiving Day plans to visit my sister were cancelled--didn't dare pass any viruses on to the little ones. So we spent a quiet day at home playing games, watching movies, and looking for the misplaced gutter clips for the Christmas lights.

One of our pastors has special prayer needs. His wife will donate a kidney to their 20-something son on Tuesday. But before that, they have a daughter getting married tomorrow.
Wow.

I pray for him and his family.

And I pray for you ... you need all the pastors you can get. :)

Thanks, :)

I'm going to talk to my boss today about the work load. Prayers he really listens, takes my concerns seriously, and will work to get us qualified help. Right now, I'm not holding my breath.

Edited to say that it went better than I thought it would, but not as well as I was hoping. It's a start.
