  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

On November 1st this year, my wife told me she wants out (read: a divorce). She served me the actual papers on Thanksgiving (I knew she filed the day before, so not that big of a deal). Without going into much detail, please just know that we were essentially both equally rotten spouses for the 5 years we've been married. Both manipulative, neglectful, and possibly even emotionally abusive. I've begged her for years to go with me to counseling, but she refused. Then she decided she's done. I'm trying to accept her decision, because I don't and can't control her. But I know God is still working in her heart. I've seen and heard little things that show me He is alive and working in her, and He's been working in me HUGELY. I don't need any advice about how to handle the situation. Just prayer that whatever God wills would be done, and that I would be able to accept his will.

I pray the Lord's will be done in this matter and that you both turn to the Lord at this time.

Thank you. I am remembering the parable of the persistent widow and petitioning God daily for my desire, but also remembering Jesus' prayer, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will." God's will just be first and greatest desire, with mine secondary.

I thank the Lord for the way you're handling this and I just pray you continue in patience, endurance and perseverance. I know there can be exceptions but the Lord wants people to remain together.

Father, papers have been served in other marriages where the people never got divorced. I pray that these two will receive such illumination and revelation from You that it will change them to their cores, and they will find a love for themselves in this new change that will draw them close together, united not only in each other but in You as a trio. May the salvaging of their marriage become a beacon of hope for others as well, and bring much glory to You. Amen.

There is what the Father really wants, and what He permits. He hates divorce, but she has the free will to take off. I pray that whatever happens you will be given wisdom, guidance and healing and a new and better life one way or another.
