  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hello, all! I'm very new to the forum, but would love the prayer support of this community.

I have a couple. First, I was recently laid off of my job doing software development. I found a temporary position that only pays minimum wage, so I took it to continue providing for my family (I am married with two kids). Now the temp job is winding down and both my wife and I are having difficulty finding work. Unfortunately, that is the story of many Americans these days.

Second, I battled with a pornography addiction for over 13 years. I have only recently, through the grace of God and fervent prayer, been free of it. Though I have not fell back into temptation, I find that the temptation is there every single day. Not only that, but the devil changes his "tactics", so to speak, in that I'm having to guard myself against the temptation is new places. I feel that right now is a very critical point for this addiction. Please pray that I am able to remain faithful and able to keep my focus on God and my family.

Thank you, and I am happy to be a part of this online congregation!

Welcome to the Parish!

I feel for you concerning the temptation which is so prevalent. As I heal from abuse of my childhood, I am becoming more aware of how unhealthy attitudes towards people, and women in particular, are out there. Something I have been concerned about and prayed for for a while are those who affected by the stuff we see in the media. I will add you to my prayer list.

Praying for both Candice and Jenna. May God keep them safe, help them to full health, and speed them to home in his knowledge of appropriate timing. May all who love them be filled with a sense of confidence that whatever the immediate reality, they and their future are indeed safe in God's hands.

I guess this is where I post a prayer request? I've never been in this thread before...

Please remember my wife's family...I got a call around 6 CST, while I was still at work, that my wife's grandfather had a heart attack and died this afternoon...My wife and children were at a Christmas party, and she doesn't know yet...I just spoke with her to tell her she needs to get home. Her grandmother just passed away in October...so this is gonna be tough for her, and all of my in-laws.
