Ok. I said I would give this a try. It is a lightly edited version of the Morning Prayer of the Optina Elders, for use when engaging social media. Feel free to share, with or without attribution.
A Prayer When Using Social Media
O Lord, grant that I may read every posting that this coming day brings to me with spiritual tranquility. Grant that I may fully surrender myself to Thy holy Will.
At every hour of this day, direct and support me in all things. Teach me to accept whatever I read with a calm soul and the firm conviction that all is subject to Thy holy Will and that the world does not depend on my opinion.
Direct my thoughts and feelings in all my words and actions. Help me to accept that your Providence guides the world and that I will not make the world a better place. In all unexpected occurrences, do not let me forget that all is sent down from Thee.
Grant that I may deal straightforwardly and wisely with every person with whom I communicate, neither embarrassing nor saddening anyone. Grant that I may be kind to those with whom I disagree or with those whose opinions offend me or others.
O Lord, grant me the strength to endure the fatigue of the coming day and all that I encounter within it. Direct my will and teach me to pray, to believe, to hope, to be patient, to forgive, and to love. Amen.
