Praise Report!!!

My best friend Derek has been my best friend for years, his parents are ministers but he has been back slid and has been completely denying the fact that there is a God. He would look at you and tell you there wasnt in fact. Well after all of this in Japan and everything that is happening in the world he texted me the other day and was completely freaked out and said he was terrified of dieing and going to hell and that he wanted to get right with God but didn't remember how. Well after a long conversation he is now saved once again and is going to back to church and living a life for christ!!!! I am sooo excited becuase I am a youth leader but have never pushed my beliefs on him but instead loved him deispite his feelings about God and just lived the best life for christ infront of him that I could and I am soooo thankful he came aroudn and so thankful for Gods mercy and grace!!!!

Please keep him in your prayers becuase this is a big step for him. His name is Derek!

I would have thought what happened in Japan would push him more the other way to be honest...
Is it really healthy that he's a Christian purely out of fear?

Seeing as we are supposed to fear God, and I think one of the reasons alot of us are christians in the first place is becuase we fear hell then I would fathum that most of us are christians out of fear. But no he Isn't doing it out of fear. Japan reallly opened his eyes and brought his mindset to that of the end times and he said he doesnt want to go to hell. He said He is tired of waking up daily and being scared of dieing becuase he knew he would go to hell.

There are different meanings to the word "fear" when it comes to fearing God.
There may be the litteral fear of going to hell and all the negative things that comes with that. But there is also the 'fear' that lends itself to be more of a reverance type feeling. It is the respect that fear is after.

Natural disasters usualy have people asking "why?" but it also opens peoples eyes and hearts.
