I agree. It’s another distraction in a long line which Satan uses to remove our focus from where it belongs. The Parable of the 10 Virgins comes to mind.
I think the point that the Holy Spirit would make, is that we are all as guilty as the anti-Christ, of sin, outside of the law.
The Holy Spirit would go on to say, even works of righteousness make us more and more like the false prophet, if we insist that it is our doing not God's.
Lastly I think the Holy Spirit would say, neither of these things have any strength compared to the evil that the Devil perpetrates, but if we hinder Him convicting people of sin, we are as guilty as the Devil.
The point is, we aren't supposed to go around saying "who is this? are they the anti-Christ??" we are supposed to be in subjection, saying "first I will serve the brethren and then I will serve God, in the world" - by being an example, we give the best response to the sin of the anti-Christ, false prophet and Devil.
If that is the case then the same goes for many threads on these forums.
Maybe you have never met people in your life who advocated something like a one world goverment. So these questions are more than academic for some of us, and we need a place to discuss so of our thoughts in regard to these issues.
At one time CBS newsman Walter Cronkite was considered to be "The most trusted man in America".
Can I as a christian support some form of world order, and what form should I support until Christ returns?
It does. You can do a round robin on any subject. But until you have a plan of action in place its supposition. Why do you think bible mentions the same? Many were looking to the end and that was 2,000 years ago. There’s no biblical precedent that we should fix our thoughts on these topics.
Truthfully, the people I know approach spiritual challenges differently. Rather than complaining about the changing climate and decreasing job security, they invested their energy in developing businesses from home to avert the problem.
Instead of discussing the threats to education and impact on children, they removed their children from school and taught them at home.
Rather than devote their time to political debates they focus their energy on deepening their relationship with God, sharing the gospel through their work, and supporting those in need.
They emphasize doing over discussion so they aren’t caught unawares when changes come. And I do the same. It is fine to have philosophical conversations. But make sure you’ve addressed the practical part too.
My health isn't good at times, makes it hard to find regular work. I make flower boxes at home at the minute - I don't have any workshop/garage
I cannot even bring my difficulties at times up to other christians for they have no interest in helping practically.
I’m sorry to hear of your health challenges. Do you make the boxes by memory or from a drawing? Your work could be of interest to gardeners. Have you taken pictures?
It sounds like you enjoy DIY. That’s a popular subject for many who work at home as is decorating. If possible, you should photograph your work and consider putting it on a blog. The physical products could generate income through the plans. Since they’re digital your out of pocket costs would be minimal.
God always has a ram in the bush. Perhaps He intends to resolve your issues in a way you never conceived. You just happened across someone who knows the subject well. There are no coincidences in His kingdom.
I made several that never got used for a community garden project I had helped with unfortunately that closed, and I am trying to get them back rather than that they get scraped, or someone else takes them. I can tell you more about it if you want to PM me.
What do you think of this concept, that there are people who could potentially become the antichrist but might not. In other words they could repent before they take that course. Satan entered Judas Iscariot at a certain point, but before that time Judas was one of the disciples.
I think the idea came into my head because of a story by Michael O Brien called Father Elijah. I haven't read it , but I heard the gist of the story was about a priest who is given the mission of calling a man who might become the antichrist to repentance. Maybe if someone has read the novel they can correct me if I have not explained it very well in the short synopsis.
I think this explains a lot and there have been quite a few leaders that people have wondered about from Henry Kissinger to Prince Charles.
I wonder do we hang too much on popular film depictions like The Omen series films at times.
Only to those having discernment.
"Pin the tail on the Beast" is a foolish waste of time.
In the 70's, there were books about Prince Juan Carlos, king-designate of Spain at the time, being the Antichrist.
By using your John 16:13 Decoder Ring...!IN what language though? I hold to Hebrew.
By using your John 16:13 Decoder Ring...!
Wrong Decoder Ring...There have been many many people who have declared the antichrist by adding the value of a persons's name.
