I think that has a lot to do with it. I get comments on me having long legs. I'm 5'8 but most people think I'm taller. Even my biological father when I stood talking with him years before he passed, he could have sworn that I was taller let him and he's taller and was quite built. Talking to somebody yesterday, I think it has to do with the way that you carry yourself how others perceive you and sometimes it has to do with the shoe sole.

I have two sisters one about 5'8 and the other 5'10 and I'm about 6'4 probably a little shorter now that I'm an old fart. I guess that is why one of my sisters can keep up with me in a relaxed walk or she used to as her back is messed up now.

I recall seeing a gag video where kids were selling little round mints and purposely "ran out" of them and had to restock and it showed them getting more from a urinal and watching the customers reaction as they have already put them in their mouths.

Wow! You're tall. That's awesome. When I get around girls like you I suddenly feel like I'm a girl. Many times I'm towering over other women. I'm sure you can relate. Especially when I lived in Japan. Don't get me wrong though, sometimes I wish I was taller cuz it's fun to see over people's heads.

And being tall is overrated sometimes as there is more short women (5'-5'4 than taller women out there.

O no!!!! I don't know how I miss that. I am so so so sorry. I apologize and I hope you don't take offense. I went on a date once with a guy that was 6'5. Funny thing is I was standing in a drink line at a club near Biloxi, trust me I'm not much of a drinker I just decided to do something different and took a bicycle to a club while I was training with the Air Force. I looked at him and said wow you're tall. He introduced me to his friends and walked me home with my bicycle. And later I got to go on a date with him in New Orleans. That's the tallest tail that I have, haha.

As long as I don't have to change pronouns I'm fine lol
I've gotten the wow you're tall bit in fact one time I was in line at Walmart and there was a toddler standing in front of me with his mom and turned around and looked at me and kept looking up higher and higher to see my face and fell over backwards, that gave me a chuckle. I once dated a girl in high school that was 4'11 or so. I felt like I had to cut off my legs below the knees to hear her when there was any noise around.

Wow! That's funny. The guy that I went on a date with, all his buddies called him Lurch. I think I was early 30s and he was early 20s. It was interesting.

I was called that in junior high school along with other names such as beanpole, stretch, tree, and some other names that were less nice, essentially a little bit of everything but to dinner at a fine restaurant.
