No, it was way, way back when the forum was first formed. Greenie is UBER Conservative. She has to check herself to keep from going off on Liberals. Do not mistake trying to fix things that were going on as a Liberal bent on her. Trust me on that.

What happened was, when we first set up this forum, we did have Liberals trying to join. We had them voting in our polls. We had them trolling so that they could report anything we said about Liberals. It was absolute chaos, believe it or not, worse in a way than the last weeks have been. The one thing it did do was unite us very, very strongly. I think that is the main reason that we did not have very much infighting. We were too busy fighting off the Libbies.

Anyway, we were trying to write our Statement, form our rules, elect our mods, and fight off Liberals. People began leaving (just like now) because it was so hot and heated all of the time. Greenie and I got into it a bit back then because I wanted to interrogate people before they came into the forum. We finally all settled on the no dual membership and that worked out quite a bit.

The next battle, which, I kind of fought in private and people are probably not too aware of this, but I had to fight to get the old school mods to apply the CCC rules. I was a new mod and I was fighting so hard to protect the members here. I felt like the Seniors did not comprehend what was going on with all the Liberal attacks on us.

Then, it took forever for Greenie to get her badge which again made us all paranoid as heck. Oh, and Julio lost his badge before he got good and started. There was a brewhaha over that too.

Then, for this brief short time, there was this wonderful peace and fellowship. This was the loveliest place on the whole board and people were really taking notice.

I think that is when Satan began attacking this place. It was just so full of love that even atheists were taking notice of it. I am dead serious. They were comfortable enough to come in and ask questions back then and we were taken seriously.

So, the next thing that happened was I got promoted to a Super A. Right before that I began rounding up new mods for the forum...Oh, that reminds me of another thing that happened.

I was the sole elected mod of CCC for the longest time. So, Tishri, without talking to anyone, she was trying to do a good thing, don't get me wrong, but we had all just been through so much...Anyway, she tried to give us an experienced mod. He started off on the wrong foot by posing as a sock, reporting Greenie, then, acting on the report under his mod name. Then, and only then, was a poll set up. Needless to say, he was NOT elected even though he turned out to be a pretty good guy.

So, I began rounding up new mods. That was when Time, Trekki, rmw, Karen, and I know I am forgetting someone here, forgive me whomever you are...came on board.

So, then, just a few days after we got their mod applications and polls started, I was promoted to Super A. There was <ahem> something that was not shared with me about that (confidential) so I turned it down and I was going to come back here to mod.

Before I could do that, I got into it with Erwin, big time! Big time, called him a tyrant and everything. I called for a rebellion or something to that effect. LOL! Anyway, that was over Moriah's ban that was against protocol btw...So, I resigned telling Erwin that I did not want to work for HIM. He pulled my badge so fast it made my head spin.

That brings us about up to date. When I resigned from staff, I took some time away. I was gone for about two weeks and came back to total chaos. I honestly couldn't tell you who or what started it because it was going on when I got back. I told someone that I had been back for two weeks, but actually I came back on the 17th. I think that is just exactly one week ago today.

Now, I admit in the early days, I was a big, big opponent of allowing Fundamentalists here. That is true. I was overruled on that and I have not complained since. I also got along with everyone. I had no idea that anyone was still carrying hurt over that. So, when I came back and saw the chaos, yes, my triggers went off, the ones I had been surpressing, and I did the stupid thread which was a bad mistake.

So, that is the history of CCC. I am sure others can chime in on more that I have probably forgotten.

But thank you for all the background about that. I had to take a break from this place too - I was gone for 3 months and when I came back, it was less than 2 weeks before Erwins 'vision' when he changed the entire site over... so I had even missed the 7/7/7 changes.

Talk about culture shock when I came back!

I felt like I came back to Cambodia during a war when that all hit. I'm sure that if I didn't take that 3 month break, I'd of been on my "break" (for sanity purposes) these 3 months (and somehow now I actually wish I had done it that way in hind sight) heh

Thanks for taking all that time and work to post that background - I'm sure it might help other people to know that too in case they had any questions about the history here.

The intention is to make me look like some sort of "liberal mole" and have all of CC rise up against me, so am bypassing all of that. Just have me removed and be done with it.

I will not be talked about, and have things spun because of one person's ridiculous agenda. The double speak and the call for "peace" after the behaviour in here over the last month and the thread up in wiki is just the most astonishing case of hypocrisy I have ever had the misfortune to witness.

I think staff are supposed to be seen as robots or something. But we're members who volunteer, and have reached the end of my rope with this one. Speaking openly about "peace" while trying to malign someone is so insidiously manipulative.

I think I know what you are coming from. Being a moderator and a member at the same time is hard, ESPECIALLY in this forum. Its hard when we talk about issues, often a person gets blamed rather than the "issue".

Let's wait and see before you really want to resign or not. Please? I like the way you moderate this forum.

No, y'all are just wounded and bleeding and are both trying to accomplish the same thing. You are butting heads because you got too much pain still.

You are not trying to unite us with Liberals. You are just trying to get the fuss to stop. Greenie is not trying to unite us with Libbies. She is just trying to get the fuss stopped. Y'all are both actually trying to accomplish the same thing.

Believe me, GM has one of the biggest hearts on this board, but it is NOT bleeding.

Greenie has had to tone down her loathing for Liberal Doctrine because she is on staff. That is a problem that Time and Julio both ran into. There are different requirements for staff. They are plain just not as free as you and I to get into it with people.

Maybe those who have been on staff since the beginning can do it, but relatively new mods, and especially ANY mod of Tishri's cannot be aggressive in their posts to the "opposition". They have to ACT fair and unbiased even if they are SEETHING on the inside.

Mods are taught that they must mod from the middle, taking no sides. The rules are their only allegience. So, what you may perceive as a mod ruling against Conservative beliefs, it is more that a mod MUST choose to either be a mod or be an advocate for a cause. They cannot be both.

I think Julio and Time can both vouch for having run into that issue.
