possible suggestion

This is going to be my last attempt to try to work out some possible solutions for a while (other than with Tangeloper who came in later as a breath of fresh air and has spoken to me directly in talking this over)-

becuz it seems the more I try to deal with it the more people are attacking and fighting with me and frankly I'm sick to death of being right in the middle of it.


Moving along... I took some time to check out the structure of the WWMC forum, and noticed that they have a special thread set up for conservative Christian fellowship (or whatever it's called).

Would it be a good or bad idea to make a thread for conservatives here to use THAT thread to fellowship w/ liberals like they do at WWMC with conservatives?

That way, I think everybody is appeased & respected - you can fellowship with them here & they can come here, and it doesn't get forced onto all the rest of the members here who have concerns about losing the conservative meaning or balance of numbers.
That's not to say they cannot post elsewhere on the board, but it's at least a place that welcomes them specifically which seems to be what is wanted.

If it is something that is wanted, I would like to be and would be very happy to be the one to create a thread just for them as a welcoming gesture to come and fellowship with CC members and see if that doesn't settle both sides of our issues?
(unless there already is one here and I haven't seen it)
hopefully try to create a fresh new start and a peaceful gesture on my part.

So with that, I'll end my efforts to try to help at least for awhile - you guys can try or leave it alone.

I'll read here & make the thread if you guys agree that it might help get us to a middle ground??

Yes, yes, (before you get upset) I have no voice here, but I believe YES - such a paralell thread would be a GOOD idea to heal the rift between our fora!

It goes well over in WWMC, liberals and conservatives alike posting silly things.... it's a fluff thread!

But if we saw that you here too can just be welcoming and "fluff".... I believe it would help!

Nadine, I truly love you for your suggestion, but I think it would not be a good idea. I will of course go along with whatever the forum wants but I think that at this time, it may cause more fighting. On the other hand, maybe, if we are beating them up, we won't beat up on each other.

if not then what applies to conservatives on that forum should probably apply to liberals on this forum,

maybe there should be a new Liberal-Conservative-Debate subforum instead (yikes that would really be explosive - think this forum is explosive?) so that we can maintain some exclusivity from the Liberal forum with the exception of the possible fellowship thread you are contemplating. cuz I think a conservative forum should in essence be just that. if people are not in accordance with conservative ideas then this forum is not for them; in other words they can find a place/subforum that is more in tune with the strength or liberalism of their beliefs . not that such people aren't welcome to come here per se. the thing is though that I don't think that the conservative forum owes the liberal forum anything. hope that doesn't sound harsh. I'm not saying we are permitted to be harsh with liberals, I am saying that as a conservative forum, we shouldn't feel obligated to placate those who proclaim themselves as liberals...but if we as conservatives care to defend certain issues more staunchly with scriptural references for substantiation, that is the conservatives' business. it certainly isn't heretical nor should it be, to defend whatever part of the gospel we believe in simply because the Bible itself is the Word of God, so everything in the Bible is; if one doesn't feel onself as conservative, then the one thing that probably should be done is to seek another subforum that will make you feel at ease; because if the shoe were on the other foot, the liberal forum would not bend over backwards to let conservative ideas pervade the forum

I kinda hope that I don't exacerbate the current cyclone hereBut oh well.

Conservative Christians are permitted to post in any thread in WWMC, we do however ask that you respect our views (we don't expect you to agree with them. )

To maintain an atmosphere of love and respect in WWMC, there will be no proselytizing or overt insulting of Liberal beliefs in the forum. For the purpose of this rule, proselytizing includes but is not limited to:

• assertions that Liberal Christians are not Christian
• assertions that Liberal Christians generally "condone sin," "rationalize their sin," or "fail to stand for the truth." (please see section on Dogmatism below)
• attempts to persuade Liberal Christians that it is wrong or sinful to be a Liberal Christian.

I think what you say is eminently reasonable. This is your home and when non-residents come as guests they should behave as guests.

I don't think the recent issues in this forum have much to do with liberals from WWMC, but a fellowship thread is always a nice thing to have

I post in a lot of threads at WWMC, and to be honest, have been treated more courteously there than many are here.


And, for what it's worth, Nadine, I thought it was a good idea...tho probably not the whole solution.
