The Fall threw the whole universe into entropy.

That means that any terrestrial aliens on other planets would be just as technologically challenged as we are.

That would necessitate accepting the concept that other creatures who had absolutely nothing to do with Adamic sin are being punished for Adamic sin.

That's why I don't believe there are any "other creatures."

well how would we see them? Even if they were detectable by IR telsecopes we would have to look for them in blank space as they would block the light from the sun. Unless something I've missed. Other then the deep field image, we generally look where we know something is, as opposed to nothing we know of.

I have always found the idea very improbable due to the vast quantity of material, the distances involved and the labor needed.

In terms of physical and life sciences, I don't think that word (entropy) means what you think it means.

Entropy is not an affliction, it is a value that measures a quantity. Broadly, it measures the number of microstates that look the same as a particular macrostate (e.g. the macrostate of the universe).

A (very) rough approximation is the degree of 'disorder' in the system (in general, disordered systems have many more microstates that look the same as their macrostate than do ordered systems).

But speaking of it as if the universe is groaning does more to pass on the meaning of what is happening, than to say the universe is moving toward thermal equilibrium ... especially in the eyes of little children.

Talking as if the universe is calling out for help speaks volumes, in that it presents a universe that is in need of being rescued; while at the same time satisfies physicists who understand what's going on "under the hood."

Why groaning ? the universe is winding down, and in doing so, it drives the emergence of complex systems like life on Earth - and us - and the more complex, the more they help it wind down.

So we're here because of low entropy, and it's systems like us that are helping it increase; that's the way the universe works. Complexity tends to increase while the entropy gradient remains high, falling off as drops towards equilibrium.
