i Feel soo ashamed and embarresed. i have really tried to overcome masturbation i have not done it in 1 month. I always feel sooo condemened and guilty when i used to do it espesielly going to church.

the problem now is that im still battling with sexual thoughts in my mind and sometimes i have dreams where i am having sex with people.

the other day a i confinded in a friend about the problem and she said her pastor said its really bad when you are having sex in your dream becuase soemtimes you can be soul tied in the spiritual realm or some people get pregnant in the spirtual realm and are unable to have kids in the phsical. this really scared me and im always praying to God for delieverance but it is still the same thing im battling with everyday. even when i try to get into a relationship with a guy im always nice to them but things always go wrong and i dont know if it could be because of the abuase i went through when i was younger.
this morning when i was sleepin it felt like i waas having an [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] in my dream and it went on for a long period of time. i feel so embarrassed i have no one to talk to pls help.

LadyAngel, hello and welcome to this forum.

I used to have awful dreams too. I have found that it is possible to have victory over these dreams, though. I will tell you what I did, and maybe something here will help.

First, I repented and asked the Lord to forgive me and cleanse me, because I had let a lot of ungodly influences come into my life. He did:

1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Next I realized that this is true: Garbage in, garbage out. I was taking in a lot of rubbish and trash, I needed to clean house. I started literally with my house. I got rid of anything that I felt was not pleasing to the Lord, who wants us to be holy, 1 Peter 1:15. I burned stuff, or destroyed it and threw it out. Then I stopped myself from watching garbage shows--sometimes this was tricky, but I made it a policy to turn off or immediately leave any show or place where there is trash (including websites!).

I realized nature abhors a vacuum. Something is always trying to fill an empty space. So it was not good enough to get the trash out, I needed to put good things in. I substituted my Bible for the garbage, and an atmosphere of praise and worship music for the TV trash. I decided that since I got attacked at night, I would read my Bible before I went to sleep. I even memorized Psalm 91 and recited that at night when I couldn't sleep. I still do this. Guess what--no more awful dreams.


You don't have to be subjected to ungodly influences, you can get rid of them. You can even take a bit of anointing oil or olive oil and pray through your house, asking for the blood of Jesus to cover it, and dedicating it to God.

God is for us. He calls us to be holy--this is great news! It means we can do this--He'll help us. We are more than conquerers through Christ Jesus our Lord, Romans 8:37.

That is just nonsense by my opinion, it reminds me more of shamanism (which I used to practice before I became Christian) where everything is explained to be reverse in the spiritual realm, for example when it is summer here, it is winter there etc. But I don't think you would find any biblical support for this. Remember to try the spirits and to check everything you hear with the bible, remember that the bible tells us to be wise as snakes.

But also innocent as doves. I am glad you seek how to be pure, and you have no reason to feel ashamed, cause it is a really common problem for Christians, and something virtually all non-Christians do. I admire your openness, and I think there is more praiseworthy that you are open about your sins and confess them and try to get help, instead of trying to look perfect on the outside to try to impress people.

The bible tells us to stay in the Holy Spirit to not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. And I think it is important to understand that this is not about willpower, but to asking God to help with what is virtually impossible for ourselves.

Well, what you have to do is test that guy's words with Scripture. If there's nothing supporting his ridiculous statements (and there isn't), then don't worry about it. In the meantime continue praying and asking for the Lord's strength. I've struggle with this very issue, also. Saying it's "difficult" is the understatement of the century.

Ignore what your pastor said.

Sexual dreams are normally just expressions of one's developed but unsatisfied sex drive. They usually stop when regular sex is available.

Don't get into a civil war with your sexuality. It is a normal, healthy part of you that need integration into your life and values healthily.

Try and remind yourself that God is watching and knows your thoughts when yo do the masturbation thing. Its not good and is a form of self pleasuring. I've struggled with this issue myself. Its a very hard fight but you must fight it. God does not want us pleasing ourselves in that manner. We feel guilt because we inherently know that it is wrong. Find yourself a good guy, marry him and enjoy sexual intercourse with him. I know its hard, I've been there. I've got some medication that kind of stifles my libido (side effect), which I am very grateful for. It has helped me stop. Something like that may be an option, I don't know. Keep praying and make an effort to remove the things from your life that arouse you in that way, be it the internet, tv, movies, magazines. Just try and focus on other things. I hope you succeed in this battle. Know that you are one of many Christians battling the same demon. Fight hard....
