Please people i need help , i'm having a big problem ...
I was reading some threads on here and that's what i found..someone asking about women in prayer and that's what he said..
" I recently went to an inter-denominational event with my very southern baptist pastor. Everything went good till the end when they asked a woman to close in prayer. He said this was not biblical because by allowing a woman to pray over men was to submit to her authority. He kept quoting 1 Cor 14 where it talks about a woman being silent in church. I grew up in a southern baptist background and I had never heard this before. I went home and pulled out the Liberty Commentary (the most baptist commentary I know of) and I could not find any mention of this. I am aware of God's ordained order for men and women but I had never heard or thought of this applying to prayer. So my question is: Where do you other Southern Baptist stand on this issue? "
everything was fine till someone replied..here what he said..
" 1Timothy 2:12 - "I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet"
1 Corinthians 14:34-35 - "the women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says. If there is anything they desire to learn, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church."
As long as she wasn't teaching or exercising authority and this wasn't a church service, there's no real conflict with scripture in my mind. Like I said in another thread though, I think that in the context of both scriptures I wouldn't object to a woman doing the scripture reading. I would however probably not want a woman leading the prayer in a church service just to be on the safe side. "
Is that really it ?!! Seriously ?!!
Right now i feel so humiliated , insulted and like if i was an inferior..
What's so wrong with women?!! why can't we speak and pray just like the men.
I'm Terribly SAD!!

It's perfectly okay if you are confused about this, but God will provide a way for you not to think of this as some kind of unfair treatment. It's precisely what God wants, and that's good enough for me, sister.
