Just a unique bit of trivia I learned in my field trip to the prison in my state. The champlin said that 80% of the prisoners who got involved in any religion besides wicca, did not residivate and end up back in prison. All prisoners who got involved in the wicca religion while in prison, recidivated and ended up back in prison. I had always found that strange! No offense. This does not reflect on you at all!!!! Glad to see you here! WELCOMEKryzilya said:Hello!
I'm new to these forums. I'm a 15-year-old eclectic Wiccan, just looking for another religious board to post on.
Actually, unequally yoked does not mean that all of our theology has to be the same. It means that a believer shouldn't marry an unbeliever. Secondly, we are not to say one way of celebrating the Life of Jesus is more right than another way. If the practice isn't in the bible, than chances are it isn't something that Jesus did himself or is a feast of the Lord. The lighting of the advent candles is one example. NO where does it say to light these, yet many believers do. Is this wrong? Not necessarily. If the practice leads their minds to focus on Jesus and his birth so be it. Messianic Jews actually practice ALL of the feast of the Lord. Everything that was commanded to be celebrated from generation to generation, we celebrate. This means that our celebrations were not done away with at the cross. The Lord did not say from genration to generation until the messiah comes. Does this mean that those who don't follow these commands are wrong? No. The Lord just hasn't convicted them that they need to do these things. We are still all of one mind, body and soul. We all still believe in the things that relate to salvation - Jesus died on the cross for our sins. We have a relationship with him. It is by grace we are saved and not by works lest man should boast. These are the things that make us One body, one mind, one soul. All the other things are just fringe benefits of belonging to one particular type of church or messianic synagogue. Don't be unyeakly yoked. But this is just me.
I should have posted this ages ago, sorry! Read Isaiah and Ezekial. Both are good books concerning prophecy. Revelations is also good but not for beginners. It is rather difficult and no one agrees on anything it seems. I've heard for different interpretations for Revelations than Jewish opinion on any verse. (Jews are known for 10 different opinions for every one Jew, I being Jewish, and saved, can testify that this isn't just stereo typing, it's too often true.) I also live in Minnesota. I'm in Ramsey, 15 north/west of Anoka. I attend the Seed of Abraham in St. Louis Park. We meet on Saturday's at 10 am, off of Minnetonka blvd at Calvary Worship Center. Come give us a visit some day. (Keep your church, not trying to 'steal' you from your church. Just visit from time to time IF the Lord leads you too.) It is a synagogue of Many non- Jews and some Jews who are all believers in Jesus. It is good to find a church that is well grounded in the bible and teaches from it instead of giving the "feel good sermons". Twin City Fellowship on 24th and Nicollet(mpls.) is an example. (And they are more subdued and not intimidating.) For a charismatic experience any Assembly of God church is good. For a Messianic Jewish experience, the Seed of Abraham is a good choice.jbarker28 said:Hello people,
If someone could point me in the right direction for in-depth bible study and discussions on prophecy, I would appreciate it.
Thanks, and God Bless!
