Mary,
There is not much I can say that hasn't been said already, but I would say this:
Each of us has to decide whether we're going to believe God's Word or believe our eyes and emotions.
The sorrows and tragedies of this world are
temporary, they are like wisps of smoke that will be blown away by the divine wind of our Lord. It is
so easy to be dragged down by our troubles and become swallowed up by them. But I believe
everything in our life happens for a reason.
This is an excerpt from a a book called "Praying God's Word Day by Day":
Lord, though I live in the world, I do not wage war as the world does. The weapons I fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have the power to demolish strongholds.
Your power can demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of You, God, and take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ (2 Cor. 10:3-5).
Enable me, Lord! Help me not just to read it and say it, but to believe it and do it! You will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to Your heavenly kingdom. To You be glory forever (2 Tim. 4:18).
Just by reading your first post, Mary, I can tell that you have a heart for God and for serving others. Not everyone would have the same amount of devotion that you have shown to this man.
It's easy for me to say this since I'm not the one in your situation but I would warn you against this:
Be careful that you dont let anger, bitterness, betrayal and other such emotions build up within you. Nothing good will come of it.
THESE are the tools that the Enemy will try to use against us.
Satan
WILL try to use this situation against you, of that I can promise you. He will try to use it to tear you apart from God, in whatever way he can. Psychological warfare is his specialty.
But you need not be afraid,
for our God is a loving God and though you may stumble, He will always be there to help you up in your darkest hour.
Despite how badly some people may treat you, if we respond with the love of God, they are
powerless against us.
I will be praying for you and thinking of you in the coming days.
Remember: You are NOT alone.

Mary, God bless you.
