  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Please help

I want to preface what I am posting here by first saying, this isn't something to laugh at or laugh about. This campus has a serious problem with aids and other STDs and now I understand why.

It is clear there are numerous souls who have been taken captive by the enemy. We must wage the war through prayer and fasting.

Matt 17:21 "...this kind does not go out but by prayer and fasting."

"Mizzou is a fun school, and it's got a really wild Greek scene. They have organized functions that help them hook up. I went to one event that had 18 houseboats, filled with fraternity boys and their dates, for a three-day trip down to Lake of the Ozarks. It was just a huge orgy..."

"People here are pretty adventurous. My girlfriends were all straight when we went to school, and now every one of them is bisexual. The girls here are just really nice and affectionate, and the guys start suggesting things. Before you know it they've dared two girls to kiss, and one thing just leads to another. That's how my first experience started, anyway... There's not a lot to do, so everybody decides to experiment."

There was more said by this person, but it's just too awful to post. There is only one way to combat such things, and that is through prayer and fasting. The point is not to sensationalize what is happening, but to make you aware of the dangers and the needs. The peer pressure must be enormous in this environment.

Will you commit to praying and fasting for this situation?

I can't fast for physical reasons but I will definitely pray about this. For the problem itself and for you. To persevere and find ways to help others with this. Sounds like you really want to try and change this, and I admire that you are trusting God with this. God Bless friend.

There's a rumor that my university is one of the STD capitols in the country. I wonder where oeople come up with that kind of thing. We're down here in the "bible belt" and everyone is so kind and friendly (to your face) There's actually quite a few Christian organizations on campus and I think our southern location encourages that. The weekly event of church is more of a place to show your face, "look at me, aren't I a good Christian?" Those same people will later on be telling me of their sexual conquests and what not, yikes! I've heard some similar stories to what you describe, it's sick

Don't get me wrong, there are many genuine children of God here, but it seems to me a lot of it is for show.

I will be praying for your university and the many lost souls there.

I think where they come up with it is from required reporting of the cases to the CDC. I will pray for your school also.

May I suggest, you take a look at this post:

http://www.christianforums.com/t5462836-are-you-losing-the-spiritual-battles-at-home.html

and that you consider doing the same in the buildings on campus? I know it's not easy, but it's definitely worth the effort.

God bless.

A very common spiritual malady is the USE OF SEX IN EXCHANGE FOR WHAT YOU REALLY WANT. How often have young people, on the plat form of life, been deceived by the Devil just when they are about to make their hopes and dreams come true? Have you noticed the amount of HIV positive persons in developing countries as compared to first-world countries? It is the hoax of Satan who says, "Guess what? You can't get what you really want? Have sex! Hey, its free and you don't even have to spend the money for protection!" This is the lie that Satan spreads among the underpriviledged, the insecure, the unloved, and those caught in the underacheivement trap in all coutries. I will definitely pray about this because I belive this trap was set on the eve of the 'Sexual Revolution!'

The college system is truly at a very sad state. Knowing this is our future, I grow deeply troubled for where things will go.

My prayers are with everyone at the campus and those throughout the world that are placed into horrible situations of temptation. May the men be MEN and stand up and not pressure women into such horrible situations of experimentation and may the women be true to who they are and realize the immorality that at hand.

Which college is this? I want to apply there :D
EDIT: Not that I want to get STDs. But the parties sound fun.
